I saw plenty of politicians on the right in the US attack the BLM protests. Look at how right wing media covered the BLM protests. This is specifically about Canada.
The attitude and support shown by the government is night and day. From the get go they were labelled domestic terrorists and white supremacists by Trudeau and virtually all high ranking government officials. If you don't see the difference in attitude/treatment it's wilfull and there's nothing really left to say.
I think this overreach ends horribly for him. I fear they are about to see what happens when you back a segment of people into a corner and give them nothing more to lose.![]()
Canadian banks will receive the names of people involved in “Freedom Convoy” protests that have descended on the nation’s capital, a first step in a promised financial crackdown on demonstrators being instituted by the far-left government of Justin Trudeau.
Bloomberg reports the Canadian Bankers Association confirmed the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) has alerted banks to a list of names and made it available.
Under the Emergencies Act invoked by this week by Trudeau, law enforcement officials have the ability to arrest people for obstruction of roadways and disruptive behaviour within a no-go exclusion zone. They also have the power to seize vehicles and freeze the same bank accounts.

This is about Canada, what politicians in the US say or do has zero bearing on what happens there.I saw plenty of politicians on the right in the US attack the BLM protests. Look at how right wing media covered the BLM protests.
The right treated the BLM protests like Canada is treating the truckers protest.
lol.......I can guarantee you that no one enjoys what you have to say as much as you do.
You are so fixated on your response that you are clueless about that to which you are responding.
I'm the one showing the similarities between BLM protests and the truckers protests.
The clueless fence sitters are the ones who view one as substantially different or more justifiable than the other. (which would be most every poster in this thread)

Did he even meet with them? All Trudeau had to really do was listen, consider there was some sound reasoning behind at the very least some of their demands and find common ground.
Instead he went full on authoritarian dictator and drove a further wedge in a largely strong country. Based on what I gathered from the news blurbs and my friend who works in the oil fields near Lac LaBiche he has really created a disconnect between the elitists and the blue collar outside of the cities. He wonders how much uglier it gets.

How about they protest where they inconvenience the folks who make the rules with which they disagree? Preventing folks (many if not most who agree with them) from using public roads doesn’t seem like the best solution to me. JMOAh yes, the right to peaceful protest that doesn't inconvenience anyone. That's how things really get done!
It’s not preferable to me, but I may be in the minority. JMOLeverage. Who cares if trucks rattle politicians' homes. Most government buildings are center city and encircling would have the same effect as now. Stopping truck commerce will have the effect in short order of no one having goods to sell and no one having jobs to go to anyway. Isn't this warning shot preferable? I think so.
And logistics. Convoys of thousands or 10/1000s of trucks are simply going to snarl roads wherever they go.
