Canada's Truck Convoy to Protest Mandate

I think society would be supportive, especially the portion that wasn't opposed to the cause....unless of course they poisoned the food, it reached the point where children were dying of starvation, etc...
I doubt they would feel the need to poison the food. That’s just murder. I imagine simply not playing in the dirt would suffice.

You do bring up an interesting point though.

When would society step in and say no more? When the children were dying of starvation? Would that be the point?

Some will obviously reach that point first while others would be last to reach that point. The situation will always be dealt with at some point between those two extremes. For lack of a better term, I always refer to that point as critical mass. It could be 30% or it might be 70%, but it's the point at which change has to happen. Which is why I always end up saying what everybody evidently hates to hear.....society always ultimately decides.

Yes, yes.

I am admittedly less interested in what gets us to that point and more interested in what happens at that point.

There seem to be a number of people wanting to reach that point so badly that they are looking for any reason to self-justify being there. Personally I think what gets us there is the biggest determinant of what happens once we're there.
There's a big risk in thinking critical mass has been reached when it hasn't.

Yes. So let’s get back to our specific hypothetical - the farmers who have stopped farming.

They stopped farming, and now children are dying of starvation. And society has now deemed that is enough.

What happens next?

Again, it all depends on what led farmers to that point:

Scenario 1: They want Feb. changed from Black History Month to White Farmers Get Everything Free Month - the majority of the public would be against them, their land would eventually be taken (for a fair price of course) and handed over to people willing to farm. Emergency food stores would be opened and everything would be okay.

Scenario 2: The government is taking the first born from every farm and using them in medical experimentation: The majority of the public would side with the farmers and demand a change in policy. If change was not made, they would join with the farmers
to do what was necessary.

Obviously, it all depends on the public's view on the "correctness" of the farmers' position.
Same with the truckers, same with BLM.

He really didn't. He reported that Members of Parliament unanimously condemned those things.
I guess the better question is why Members of Parliament would UNANIMOUSLY do that.

So you’ve seen those things specially listed in a Canadian parliamentary resolution? Would you mind providing the link?

Trudeau handled it all horribly in my opinion. I said from the beginning he should just remove the mandates.
But it is insane to say protestors can block traffic indefinitely. It would be easy for 100 protestors to shut down all interstates leading into Atlanta for weeks.
It would be easy for a handful of protestors to shutdown all major airports, or all major rail lines.
It has never been allowed, should never be allowed, and will never be allowed.

Especially since Atlanta is perfectly capable of shutting down all of its Interstates on its own.

What do farmers have to do starving kids? They just go to the store. And they have no obligation to provide food. That's a ridiculous take.
