Canada's Truck Convoy to Protest Mandate

What do farmers have to do starving kids? They just go to the store. And they have no obligation to provide food. That's a ridiculous take.
I don't know anyone who believes that. We are conditioned to expect food to be on the shelves, the same as we are conditioned to believe that when you turn the faucet water will come out, or when you flip the switch the lights will come on.
No one believes water, electricity, and food magically appears; just that it will be there when needed.

And farmers most certainly do have an obligation to provide food.

Again, it all depends on what led farmers to that point:

Scenario 1: They want Feb. changed from Black History Month to White Farmers Get Everything Free Month - the majority of the public would be against them, their land would eventually be taken (for a fair price of course) and handed over to people willing to farm. Emergency food stores would be opened and everything would be okay.

Scenario 2: The government is taking the first born from every farm and using them in medical experimentation: The majority of the public would side with the farmers and demand a change in policy. If change was not made, they would join with the farmers
to do what was necessary.

Obviously, it all depends on the public's view on the "correctness" of the farmers' position.
Same with the truckers, same with BLM.
Does anyone now doubt that Luther is a communist? I know many thought I was being hyperbolic but he is a 100% died in the wool commie.

NEW — The Guardian reports that 206 bank accounts and corporate accounts have been confiscated by Justin Trudeau without charge or trial for their support of the Canadian trucker convoy.

Canadian police secure downtown Ottawa as truckers’ protest ends

If these protest haven’t exposed to everyone just how corrupt and authoritarian western governments are....you can’t be helped...

They’re not even hiding the fact that civil liberties do not exist anymore . It’s out in the open for everyone to see. I just don’t see people of the world putting up with this too much longer...

Might want to talk to Georgia's leading lady Stacey Abrams who believes we dont need agricultural jobs.

And they are under no obligation. It's why we pay them. They owe us nothing. You see the way society evolved was off of mutual need. It worked as long as everyone got what they needed from society, including protection. Part of that protection is freedom. And when people like farmers or truckers, decide society isnt holding up its end of the bargain, protecting their freedom, they are under no obligation.

But you see the left, especially Trudeau, is now under the assumption that others are obligated to uphold Trudeau's et al way of life. And that it's a one way street. They have their cake and they are eating it, but at some point the rest of the people will want their cake too. And honking and grid lock will be the least of the worries.

I agree that we are obligated to pay them for the food they have accepted the obligation of providing.

See this is why I encourage people to be as independent as possible. You are going to be in for a rude awakening. They have no obligation whatsoever. This isnt the USSR, the "people" dont own the farms, that the farmers work for us. It's their farm, their food, they get to decide where it goes.

Of course they do, I'm not disputing that. If a farmer wishes to poison his own crops, he has that freedom. But he will be failing in his obligations to himself, his family, his community, and all those who depend on him. People usually have the right to fail to live up to their obligations. Farmers, both individually and collectively, have accepted the role of providing food to society. With that acceptance comes an obligation. With the accepted role of becoming a husband comes certain obligations. With the accepted role of becoming a parent comes certain obligations. With the accepted roll of becoming a LEO comes certain obligations. With the accepted role of being a free member of society comes certain obligations.

Farmers have no obligation to anyone other than their creditors, they do not have any obligation to you or anyone else.

All governments are corrupt, not just the western ones.

There is a reason the system is designed to keep small businesses (including farms) and really the entire middle class in debt.

Their obligation is to farm. Anything else is someone elses obligation.

I would bet pennies against dollars that the garden the farmer feeds his family from is not the same one that ends up on our tables. They arent going to stop being farmers, they will just stop being sellers.

I agree 100 percent. The truckers horns have awakend a lot of people. I don't know how any sane person can defend Trudeau's draconian response to a peaceful protest.

Once again, an absurdly simplistic, concrete, two-dimensional view.
Why are they obligated to their creditors? Because they signed a document?
They signed a document when they married and swore to love honor and obey 'till death do they part. (any obligations?)
They didn't sign a document when they fathered a child, so obligations or not?
When they are driving to church on Sunday and an old lady is unlawfully crossing the road, do they have an obligation to slow down to avoid running her down.
Life is full of obligations - some legal, most not.

Nobody outside of your family is obligated to feed you. And truthfully since you are a grown man even your family is not obligated to feed you.

lol.....
ob·li·ga·tion
- an act or course of action to which a person is morally or legally bound; a duty or commitment.
- the condition of being morally or legally bound to do something.

We obviously don't agree on the significance of the "morally" part and that's okay, but it doesn't remove it from being a component of obligation.

Actually, including morally makes it even more subjective. Someone else's morality could say that if a man will not work then he will not eat. Why are you so judgemental?

I 100% agree. Obligation is subjective - you think farmers aren't obligated, I think they are (within context).
