Candice Parker vs. Skylar Mcbee (merged)

is that a joke? smaller ball=better percentage that the ball will go through the hoop.

Well sure, if you think about it like that. I'm just saying if you had been used to shooting a bigger ball, it would take some time to adjust to a smaller ball.

(And in case anyone is thinking it, yes, that's what she said).

I'm usually a card carrying member of the "Women's basketball isn't really basketball" alliance, but some of you people have a much higher opinion of Skylar McBee than I do. I think Candace would beat that ass.

Pick up a women's ball some day and shoot around. It's much easier. It makes any normal guy feel like LeBron palming the ball like a champ. It's like the size of a grapefruit

No way. Not fast enough laterally. He could literally score one layup after another.

I take it you never played bball against any of the lady vols

I was thinking along the same lines as to the touch or feel of the smaller ball. Wondered if anyone had any experience with it. I would think an inch smaller would make handling easier, but wondered about the actual shot itself.

At my high school during PE you had to rush to get the men's basketballs because there wasn't enough. So sometimes you got left with a women's ball. You go from a 20% 3 point shooter to like a 50%. lol

I think shooting a girl's ball is actually harder. I'm so used to using the men's ball that I can't ever seem to get used to shooting it.

This even surprises me a little. The fact that the boyfriend was on the men's basketball team should have probably been enough. The fact that your friend never played makes this really surprising.

The "fact" that her boyfriend was on the mens team and she was on the womens team makes this story a LIE. LOL I played NAIA D2!! YES NAIA DIVISION TWO, and any one guy on our team playing with any one girl would def beat the two guys he describes. Hands down, and for him to say they won 15-1 is laughable, two college players, don't care what level, don't get beat buy a pencil pusher and a career HS sub 45-3 in 3 games. GTFO with that ish.

I don't doubt it would be easier for me (I'm just 5'8"). I just wasn't sure if it would be that much easier for a guy 6'8" or so. Oh well. I certainly can't speak from experience in that aspect, lol.

I mean I guess it depends. If you're 6'8 the women's ball really would feel like holding an apple or something, so in that respect I agree. I just compare it to a nerf football. You take a regular football and a normal guy can throw it idk an average amount. You take the nerf ball and you're out there launching 70 80 yard bombs.

I dunno. Reggie Miller has admitted that Cheryl used to whip his ass until he was eighteen, and Cheryl is less athletic than Candace and Skylar McBee sure as hell isn't Reggie Miller.

She'd definitely kick Stevie's ass in a free throw contest.

Yea, I wasn't disagreeing at all. I'm just saying that if you shoot a lot with a men's ball and then go shoot with a women's ball, it takes a while to adjust.

But if you ever watch a girl shoot with a men's ball, you'll see that your point is spot on.

Cheryl used to whip Reggie's ass because Reggie weighed no more than 115 pounds. Hell she could just push him around.

You know, I don't think I've ever seen that. Weird. I'll have to put that on my to-do list haha. What does it look like, someone throwing shotput?

Okay this is like the dumbest argument ever but were just trying to make a point here, our suite mate for some unknown reason thinks that Candice Parker would lose to Skylar Mcbee if they played one on one. I mean I love Skylar to death, but lets be realistic, Candice would win. And I'm kind of sexist, but again I still say Candice Parker would definitely beat Skylar Mcbee one on one, who agrees, disagrees.

Trey...are you serious...

:eek:lol:

Actually me and my girlfriend both played in high school, so we occasionally will still shoot with each other. She is actually a good shooter, but she struggles with the men's ball while she can flat out shoot the women's ball.

And if she gives him 3ft (which she would need for a decent chance to stay in between him and a layup), then she spends the day catching the ball coming out of the net, and passing it back to him. This isn't an SEC offensive set, this is one on one in an empty gym. Hed either make it rain or do layups all day, end of story. To the roomate of the OP, good post, be patient with them.

I bet.

I pretty much lost all faith in women's sports in little league. You know, when you were waiting for the girls to get off the court and it would be 4th quarter, score..... 6-4.

Remember those days well. Lots of women's high school ball isn't much better.

The same people that think Parker would win are the same delusional people who believe UCONN's women team would win against men's competition.
