Mashack is more valuable staying than going. Hes the perfect system fit and will move to a much bigger role. Canā€™t imagine why heā€™d leave.


This is ZZā€™s team. It would take a seismic event for him to leave.


Heā€™s not going to get rich leaving and is really doing well here. He doesnā€™t have the height to attract a big offer elsewhere.


Aidoo listened last year, and does have professional counsel. He has a pro set of tools. If anyone is going to be lured sideways or up, itā€™s him. That said, he loves the coaches. Heā€™s the happiest heā€™s been during his time here. Heā€™ll have the biggest target on his back , but I think heā€™ll stay.

Gainey has had some odd stretches with chemistry and his playing. As of today, Iā€™d say he fits and will stay, but I wouldā€™ve listed him as most likely to go three weeks ago.

Late to the party, but great breakdown here from one of the stalwarts around here. To your Carr point, the fact that Barnes trusts him to come in and take the shots he does says a ton. He also doesnā€™t seemed fazed by the criticisms that get levied on him. He just screams guy that explodes in his third year to me, wants to be coached and clearly has the raw, God-given abilities.

I'd gladly overpay to keep him. If he could add just a little more bulk, he could be an All-American level player next year. Might get there even if he doesn't. Also, if he leaves, we're gonna have big problems scoring next year, I suspect, unless Barnes catches lightning in a bottle again in the portal.

I think Carr and Freddy are going to very good players for the Vols down the road. Hope these two stay put. Donā€™t think Phillips or Estrella are going anywhere. As far as Jefferson, all signs seem to indicate he is not happy here and will probably hit the portal.

Can you clarify these signs that point to DJ not being happy here? Everything Iā€™ve read and seen from him on the bench point to someone who is engaged and happy and involved. It sounds more like school issues keeping him off the court.

We need to get in the portal and get a legit power forward that can stretch the defense, rebound, and defend the post to pair with him. When Aidoo has looked bad he is in there on an island playing by himself against physical teams. He's not built for that.

IMO, Next year rotating roster will look like this IF Jefferson stays:

Awaka/ Phillips/Estrella

That is roughly what I see too. I think Freddie is the most likely to leave as well. I donā€™t want to lose Mashack, I think he has earned more minutes; and I donā€™t see Jefferson playing much even if he stays. Can Carr play a little SF in addition to SG? If so he will see a lot of minutes.

Gainey is a guy who is definitely not going anywhere, so I have no problem taking an impact PG/SG in the portal and letting Boswell sit for a year. I think we are set in the front court with Aidoo coming back, and I believe he will. Just need to get a big time 1/2 and we will have a good looking squad.

Have no clue what happens after season. I do think we need another wing player. Like Shak but will not give you explosive scoring you need from wing. I do believe Carr starts at 2 and Gainey again first guard off the bench. Carr upside offense and Defense are elite just needs off-season to get stronger better condition . Jonas could play himself into draft. Do like building team from young guys but in today's game you will always look to make yourselves better through portal. In CHRIST Alone
