I get that it’s hard to get past the memory of the bowl game, but this UGA fan kinda thinks FSU got screwed. Yes UGA had an argument to be in the playoff last year, but not as against FSU. We had a weak OOC schedule, didn’t win our conference, and we lost to Bama. While I don’t think losing a conference championship game should count against a team as compared to somebody sitting at home, that’s not what happened. Bama went instead of us.

And what else can you ask of FSU? Win all your games? Did that. Win with a backup or third string QB? Did that. Win your conference championship game without your starter? Did that. Yeah it was ugly after Travis went down, but they won.

Ugly wins are wins. If UGA pulls out a clown show derpfest win against ND or Indiana where Stockton plays like trash but we catch all the breaks, nobody will be suggesting that somebody else advance. FSU won ugly without Travis, but style points don’t show up on the scoreboard.

I can certainly tell you why I think UGA was better than FSU last year (especially without Travis), but I just can’t get past how screwed I’d feel to win all the games and get passed over by teams with a loss.

Not the discussion. But they were more deserving than anyone else. Your defense of Georgia here is almost frightening. The SECCG was an abomination to football

While I understand all that, winning a bad conference shouldn't be an auto qualifier imo. I absolutely hate Boise St and ASU getting bye in the current format. That is trash imo and it likely will never be perfect. In the case of FSU they got exposed much like I expect Boise and ASU to do. TCU ring a bell ?

TCU made it to the championship game. They won the semi. There’s a reason you play the games

I think they’ll have to change how byes are awarded, at a minimum. Nobody thinks BSU is a top 4 seed.

But I also think that conference championships will remain important and likely will remain as auto-qualifiers because conferences are the governing bodies that have the most control over the playoff, and they want to protect their championship games.

And, while I’m with you on the problems with the TCU blowout, TCU lost its conference championship game to KState. It made the playoffs on the strength of its regular season play. And TCU also beat a pretty good Michigan team in the first round of the playoff. Some of that had to do with some weird bounces/bad coaching decisions by Michigan, but I’m on record saying a win is a win. UGA was just the worst possible matchup for TCU.

Your blatant admission to not knowing football is what’s frightening. Do you understand how high level football works? The matchups within the matchups were insane. Go watch Brooks Austin’s breakdown of the film. Major adjustments were made throughout the game and both defenses and offenses were doing everything they could to win.

Ewers was inaccurate and Kirby toned everything down so your boy wouldn’t be lost. Texas isn’t good at all. To tie it up, they’ve played a worse schedule than fsu last year

Hold up….Texas isn’t good “at all”? You’re drunk. Are they elite all time great? Absolutely not. But to sit here and act like they are warmed over garbage is asinine.
And yeah, Kirby and Bobo had to tone the offense down for Gunner. Just like CJH has done for Nico. It’s literally their job to put players in the best position to be successful. Once again proving how little you know about ball.

I have a few different feelings about this situation. On one hand, I do feel like FSU kind of got screwed out of the playoffs last year. However, a one loss SEC Champion. FSU may have had more of an argument vs. Texas but Texas did have the win at Alabama. Once FSU players opted out of their bowl game and got absolutely destroyed by Georgia, though, I stopped feeling sorry for them. As far as TCU goes, I would agree if not for the fact that they did beat Michigan in the semifinals. It's hard to say they didn't deserve to be there without also disqualifying Michigan. That year's Georgia team was just way too much for TCU to handle. Finally, in regards to FSU's backup QB, we did get to see him as a starter for a few games before the end of the season. I don't think you can accurately compare that to Stockton coming in for Georgia. While I suspect Stockton is a better QB than FSU's backup was, Texas was not able to gameplan for him like they would have if he came in to the game as the starter. We won't see how that situation looks for another week.

I’m pretty sure his Lambo was from an NIL deal with the local Lambo dealership.

Beck may decide to return to UGA next year and try to rebuild his draft status. To me it would be a stretch by any GM drafting him in the early rounds( except maybe the Titans).

That was my argument. I’m not defending UGA at all. That’s not my intention at least. I think I just disagree with the premise that FSU and UGA are the same . I don’t see them as being Apples to apples comparisons.

I’m from Georgia - only one lambo dealership and it’s not local to Athens lol.:

But I guess the “state lambo dealership” obviously I was just messing with his money choices he can do what he wants- just was highlighting his initial NFL deal crumbling.. maybe he will make up for it with a second deal.
