Lol this could be awesome if Trump declassified all the related info and they had to respond to a FOIA request with no redacted docs. 😂

You give the guy that apparently doesn't know the difference between would and wouldn't too much credit.

They relied on the bogus dossier to go after Page. Surprised Carlos posted this. Doesn’t look so good for this witch hunt

Redacted? It's been squalled that he can declassify anything to anybody at anytime. Picture him slinging classified info like dollar bills to strippers.

This release is a Nunesburger but still the DOJ and the pro trump activists have put great emphasis on Carter Page. Why? IDK but it's interesting and mysterious still yet.

Or am I wrong and the likes of Nunes droped this a few months back.

You still in denial about how FISA warrants work?

They only needed a FISA warrant on anyone in the Trump campaign or organization to spy retroactively on everyone within 2 hops of the person named in the warrant.

Retroactively. That means in the past.

This type of warrant would provide significant cover if illegal spying on the Trump campaign had already taken place.

"No one in my campaign colluded with the Russians."

That can still be 100% true.

You think Strzok and the others that put this warrant together verified the details of the Steele Dossier?

Comey testified the dossier was salacious and unverified.

If you can tell me which criteria for a FISA warrant that was not meet we can talk.

If you can tell me which criteria for a FISA warrant that was not meet we can talk.

The Steele dossier was included in the initial FISA warrant application and all 3 extensions.

Edit: The attorneys for National Security Division are responsible to verify all assertions made by investigators in the FISA application.

Known as “Woods procedures” after Michael J. Woods, the FBI Special Agent attorney who developed this layer of approval, DOJ verifies the accuracy of every fact stated in the application. If anything looks unsubstantiated, the application is sent back to the FBI to provide additional evidentiary support

The FISA court does not question the veracity of the evidence provided in a FISA warrant application.

By James Comey's own testimony the Steele dossier was "salacious and unverified".

What is confusing here?

FISA courts are not intended to allow for spying on American citizens. FISA was supposed to allow for spying on terrorists.

Why are you ok with this?

So, what criteria was not meet? Please answer. Or just tell me the criteria.

It just had to be corroborated, Not "verified". Get it straight.

I was right. Verified. Not corroborated.

Read the quote below from this article.

How High Was the Bar for Getting a FISA Warrant to Monitor Carter Page? | Just Security

The FISA application then travels to the Justice Department where attorneys from the National Security Division comb through the application to verify all the assertions made in it. Known as “Woods procedures” after Michael J. Woods, the FBI Special Agent attorney who developed this layer of approval, DOJ verifies the accuracy of every fact stated in the application. If anything looks unsubstantiated, the application is sent back to the FBI to provide additional evidentiary support – this game of bureaucratic chutes and ladders continues until DOJ is satisfied that the facts in the FISA application can both be corroborated and meet the legal standards for the court. After getting sign-off from a senior DOJ official (finally!), a lawyer from DOJ takes the FISA application before the FISC, comprised of eleven federal district judges who sit on the court on a rotating basis. The FISC reviews the application in secret, and decides whether to approve the warrant.

Actually, it makes the FBI and the Intel agencies look pretty good and Nunes and company look like idiots. It absolutely destroys Nunes's claim that the FBI hid this information from the FISC. Nunes’ claimed that FBI was using Michael Isikoff’s Yahoo News article as independent confirmation of Steele’s intel when they weren't, they used it as a source for Page’s denials when he said he wasn't working for Russia. The FISA FOIA release makes clear beyond any serious doubt that the Nunes memo was amazing dishonest. And let's not forget that the FISA warrant was reauthorized 3 more times using evidence that was independent of the Steele dossier. In order for the FISA warrant to be renewed the renewal must contain intel and evidence collected in the 90 days before it is taken before the FISA Court.
