Forget what you think of Limbaugh. Why in the middle of a an economic crisis do you come out publicly telling everybody that you are trying to bury the GOP with some goofy attempt at a Jedi mind trick to deceive the public into thinking that a talk show host is anything other than a talk show host? Do they need a guy to hate this bad?

Agree completely. Obama and his people look like the green horns they are for ever acknowledging Rush.

Wow, the Dems using fear and demonization yet again? And I thought only Republicans did this.

neither Obama nor any of his cronies have the guts to debate Limbaugh. They're like a bunch of yipping chihuahuas barking at a passing Rottweiler. As long as there's a fence between them, they're content to bark.

I'm pretty sure it's not an issue of "guts". Winning a debate against the Rush-types of the world would be a simple task. But once that was complete, it would open the flood gates for all the other loonies to come out of the woodwork wanting their shot too.

you don't really think our president could win a governance debate with Limbaugh?

He couldn't win a governance debate with my wife, much less someone who cares.

Your opinion of Limbaugh and mine are vastly different. I have confidence that, when put to task, your wife would clean the floor with Limbaugh. For that matter, I'd put money on your kids in a mano-y-mano debate.

Obama can't seem to understand the definition of "responsible/responsibility". You really can't debate people that live in non-sensical worlds.

That still doesn't speak to the one track minded, blithering buffoon we've put into the oval office.

To those saying you think attacking rush is a waste of time and energy, I completely disagree. Rush, in combination with others, are really pulling elected republicans back to the right. Dividing and separating him out is a reasonable political goal.

As I said in another thread...I'm willing to give the man some time. He's had the oval office for what, 45 days?

Honestly, that's what I think it's about. Call him out and see how the core of the party reacts. Do they come to his aid, or (as I predict) rightfully distance themselves from him. At which point, they prove he is irrelevant.

from my experience obama is the one pulling republicans back to the right thus their elected officials are responding. i hang out with repubicans and democrats alike and the democrats are the only ones that have brought up rush's name. he never get's discussed EVER in my republican circles. who would discuss him? how many people can listen to the radio at 1pm even if they wanted to?

it's funny how these liberals will go into comfortable environments and trash Rush as soon as a microphone and camera are stuck in their faces. None of them have the intestinal fortitude nor the balls to debate Rush one on one, man to man, NONE OF THEM.

Obama is a stinking coward as well. How many times did he call out Sean Hannity, by name, during the primaries and the election campaign? Yet when invited, repeatedly, to debate Sean in person, Obama was mute. That fellow from an Obama rally, Mr. Burris, has more guts than Obama, because he actually appeared on H&C.
If Limbaugh and Hannity want to debate politicians, they should run for office. I guess they lack the "guts" for that.

Same here. Makes me sick that people want to hang some title on Rush as the "leader of the right". I honestly don't know a person that leans right that listens to him with any regularity.

They don't run for office for the same reason you don't run for office . . . they don't want to deal with the pay cut.

If he's not smart, we should all hope to be as stupidly successful as he is.

Yeah, but I don't sit around bitching that George Bush or Harry Reid won't come debate me. If Hannity wants to engage Obama in discourse badly enough, the way to do so is evident.

Obama called Hannity out, not the other way around. Obama is firing shots that he knows he will not have to back up.

IMO the people who say that don't remember what the Republican Party was like before Rush Limbaugh.

I would say he has had more positive impact on the Republican Party then anyone in the last 30 years besides Reagan. The dominant party today is the Republican party even they are the minority in govt now, that will only be temporary IMO.

There was a time when the entire southern U.S. predominantly voted Democratic but he and Reagan changed that. You turn on the radio now there are a dozen different conservative talk radio hosts to listen too. When Rush started, it was only him. He made talk radio, and that has been a huge influence for the Republican party.

Rush is definately an influence on a lot of people. What is sad is that our POTUS is commenting on him.

Blah blah blah...I find him boring and as I said no conservatives I associate with listen to him on any regular basis. I've never had a conversation with any of my friends that hold similar political views to mine where his name has come up. He is a blowhard.
