CBJ bringing in PAC-MAN Jones to speak to team

People will complain about anything. I think the team can learn a lot from Adam Jones. He made A LOT of bad choices in his short life. He can speak from experience, and can relate to some of the kids on the team. CBJ has gotten Adam to speak to his previous teams as well. I applaud CBJ for not being like some of our fans.

Experience may be the best teacher but someone else's experience is a lot cheaper.

How about they bring in the REAL Pacman? Manny Pacquiao

He can teach them a thing or two about toughness and adversity

Guy dropped out of high school because of poverty and needing to work to support his family and siblings and he literally lived on the streets.

So the the multi-billion dollar, image-obsessed NFL has him speak at the Rookie Symposium, but its foolish for UT to do the same thing?

SEEMS LEGIT.

Butch likely met Pacman during his 2 yrs as WR coach at WVU.

Pacman's last season at WVU was '04 and Butch was at WVU in '05 & '06.

People need to chill.

but nothing to do with the fact Butch was at U of Cinn 2010-2012 and Pacman played for Cincy Bengals 2010- present.

This is a Weird move by Butch Jones IMO. I'm not seeing what good can come from this.

When you have your eyes shut or blinders on, you can't see much if at all. Especially when disapproval is pre-established.

I just think there are a lot of guys who give a more impactful message because they've overcome their mistakes and have gone on to good to great things with excellent perspective on their past. Although his transgressions have slowed down, Pacman is still in his "mistake phase". He just had an issue with a woman a few months ago where he threw a drink in her face and took a swing at her because she recognized him and wanted an autograph or something. This guy basically ordered a hit on a Vegas nightclub bouncer just a few years ago.... that guy will never walk again, is confined to a wheelchair.

I just disagree he's the right guy. There are other more credible, better human beings that could give the message that CBJ wants to impart to his players.

Jesus Christ was booked.

Maurice Clarett talked to the team, and he had a less productive career than pacman

Clarett seems to have legitimately turned his life around and isn't less than a year removed from his last arrest like Jones is. Wonder how many players may think "hey, Pacman's been arrested like 12 times in 7-8 years, was directly involved in an incident a few years ago where a dude in a bar was shot and is now paralyzed....and didn't he just get arrested AGAIN for assaulting a woman last year? And he's still in the league making millions..... He's gotten away with everything, guess I can too."

Muhammad, Budhha, Moses, and Chief Joseph Drifting Goose weren't available.

Dewayne Goodrich, Leonard Little, Jamal Lewis, Cris Carter, Maurice Clarett (who has spoken to the team) and countless other former NFL players who have found redemption probably would've been.

the way I see it, you're not using your papers for writing but for ROLLIN' DOOOOBIES

I did my best. I recommended to CBJ to book any of the following; Julius Caesar, Genghis Khan, Clyde Barrow, or Jim Jones. But he insisted he liked retro video games.
Frogger, Asteroids, and Centipede machines were broken. He didn't like Dig Dug or Donkey Kong so Pac Man was all that was left.

Should've played pong like a real man! #furButch!

This is all I'm sayin.

Fine to invite in a guy who made some mistakes and fixed his life and everyone knows he fixed his life.

I'm not sure what evidence anybody has that Pac-Man fixed anything, except maybe witnesses to crimes he committed or bets he made or stuff like that.

Questionable choice at best...

I was watching ESPN when this was discussed. One anchor basically said he did not see what positive Adam's could speak about and another said the only worse person Butch could have gotten was O.J. Simpson.

OJ will be on the video feed next month.

I guess when PAC MAN is done CBJ will more or less say that it is better\cheaper to learn from others mistakes than to make them yourself and nobody is above the law, including star athletes.

Hopefully the players will say I'm not gonna make those boneheaded mistakes....do you know how much he lost on endorsements, blah, blah, blah and succeed.

So when do we get the 87 Hurricanes linemen in Knoxville to motivate? We need mean and nasty at this point........

Exactly what can Pacman say on how to rise above your mistakes? People keep saying Clarett, by all accounts, Clarett has at least grew up and is not smashing girls' faces in.

He isn't the nicest guy so I really don't see him walking thru the door saying, hey, don't be me. He is still so full of himself. Why are people even suggesting that he will? He isn't going to come and do a confessional.

Now with that said, as soon as he left the room, if I was Butch, I would ask for a show if hands in who wants to be just like that guy that was here???
