CBJ hosts former Vol lettermen

gotta give it to Butch...he is trying very hard to unite the Vol family/fanbase....which is a good start

I know it is beating a dead horse but for a guy who started the VFL program, Dooley sure did a lot to alienate former Vols and fans

The way that CBJ has embraced this program and the traditions, etc. it almost seems like he was a former VOL himself. I do believe he truly loves this program and meant it when he said this was his dream job.

Well it's early yet, for one thing, to go all gung ho. The second being, we have been snookered twice. Ya know that old saying..." fool me once, shame on me..." applies here. People are naturally skeptical.

Time will tell, but this is an encouraging start.

Vol fans have a right to be skeptical after the last 2 head coaches we had, but I'll tell you this... Butch Jones earned the Tennessee job. This man worked his way up, and won along the way.

Our last 2 coaches were spoiled brats who's daddy's names and accomplishments in football kind of paved their way to top jobs.

It's refreshing to hear a UT coach talk about winning and championships instead of running their mouths off about rival coaches or referencing WWII.

So far, I like bUTch Jones! Go Vols!

I'm not as concerned with where this recruiting class ends up being ranked, but where that class finishes UP after being coached UP by Coach Jones. DD was terrible at coaching kids up, and it showed in the product he put on the field.

Don't torch me for saying this, but I keep having this nagging feeling that Jones has just researched everything everyone hated about Dooley and is doing the complete opposite just to please people. If it's genuine and he continues everything he's doing, then more power to him. It's awesome. But it (especially his Twitter) seems like he's almost trying too hard. But who knows--that's probably what we need after being beat down for so long...Time will tell.

Good comment from CBJ on his Twitter page...

A night after meeting with so many VFLs, let's remember an ultimate VFL Reggie White, who would have celebrated his 51st birthday today

...did D.D even know who RW was?
