And as usual you miss the point

No you missed the point, our society gets more up in arms over the death of an animal than a human being. If those videos that surfaced of aborted baby parts being sold were let's say the parts of monkeys it would be aired on every news station 24/7. I can assure you the reaction would have been much more vocal. So, continue on with the faux outrage. By the way, the second in line male lion will most likely eat the killed lion's cubs so go ahead and drag him through the streets and make a nice coat out of him.

I would wager the constant bringing up of abortion when it has nothing to do with the subject is getting old. I'd also wager a good chunk of the ones that constantly do keep shoehorning it into conservations also really don't GAF about the abortions either, they just like to constantly rage about it. Plus the ones who constantly bring it up are likely the same people who piss and moan about taxes that would go to welfare.

And finally, it's possible to be outraged by both.

The awesome thing about this is we can use shaming to discourage behavior we don't like.

Who can afford to go on safari to kill big, rare animals?

Rich white guys.

Who doesn't like to be publicly shamed?

Rich white guys.

This crap went viral and everyone knows who this guy is. We can positively shape the world without trying to push rules on people, and that's a great thing.

Folks with money will still trophy hunt if they want. If they don't want to get caught they'll just leave the cameras at home.

Probably not much will change.

Jimmy Kimmel... awesome since the Man Show. He gets it.

Best last night host in my opinion with Conan as a dissstant second. Don't care for Letterman, Leno or Fallon.

Cecil the Lion hammed it up for camera toting tourists and TV crews. Freddie the Fetus and Zachary the Zygote only made appearances on sonograms.

I wonder how many employees he had at his dental office that are now - or will soon be - out looking for a job.

Yeah, most likely. I don't know why they'd wait 40 hours otherwise. It's just bothersome the extent and effort he put in for this trophy kill.

Like I said, hunters are fine by me. They go for the clean kill and only kill what they're going to eat. Well, that's how hunters I know always been. You see kids shooting birds or squirrels because they don't know any better but I don't know any adult hunters who would do that.

You wait hours to let the animal expire if you know you had a clean shot. Just because you hit a vital does mean The animal falls over dead. If a wounded lion runs into the tall grass after you knowingly hit its vitals..... You wait. You don't jump in to chase it.
If a gut or hip shot lion breaks into the tall grass and he has no signs of bone breakage, you go after him ASAP as a wounded big cat carnivore will turn rogue.

My brain is capable of having an opinion on more then one topic at a time. Apparently you can not. I have seen the PP issue on the news. I have seen this on the news. I find both disgusting. Its not that difficult. Also don't pass off Rush Limbaughisms as your own. He was beating this drum well before you. Give credit where is credit is due.

But what about lion on lion crime? Do lion lives only matter when white people take them? 23 lions were murdered by other lions this past weekend in the south central Serengeti. No media coverage of that. Cecil had 4 out of wedlock cubs and 3 misdemeanor possession charges.

Those charges were for simple possession

Do you really think that's analogous?
Don't really care. I think the whole thing is overblown and should be news to the locals. Having said that, I don't have one problem with him being extradited to face crimes if he's guilty of them.

That's called natural selection. Something humans should consider....

Are you kidding? What's the point of a trophy if you can't show it off? The more people that are against it, the less you'll feel comfortable putting a mount in your own living room.

We need it to play out. Just because he was guilty once of lying to an agent doesn't mean he is guilty of illegal hunting now. I've heard the argument about the collar and he should have seen it. It is legal to bait lions in Zimbabwe, to shoot them with a bow and arrow from a blind, to kill them outside a national park in a private hunting area and to kill collared lions. So that is irrelevant.

I think people are only mad because it was a famous lion and not that it may or may not have been illegally taken.
