Scout.com: 2014 SEC East Schedule Breakdown

Non-Conference Games: Utah State, Arkansas State, at Oklahoma, Chattanooga
Games Against The West: Alabama, at Ole Miss
Realistic Best Case Record: 9-3
Worst Case Record: 4-8
Likely Finish: 6-6

Pre-Preseason Projected Wins: Utah State, Arkansas State, Chattanooga, Kentucky, Missouri, at Vanderbilt

Pre-Preseason Projected Losses: at Oklahoma, at Georgia, Florida, at Ole Miss, Alabama, at South Carolina

Summary: It’s not crazy to suggest that Tennessee will have to face three eventual conference champions – Utah State (MW), Arkansas State (Sun Belt), at Oklahoma (Big 12) – in the first three weeks of the season. Fortunately, there’s a week off to prepare for the SEC. The bad news is that it all kicks off with a trip to Georgia.

Going to Ole Miss this year is rough, and the bad break of Alabama being the interdivisional rivalry game won’t help, but there’s a chance things might turn around over the finishing kick. Vol fans are used to this – the team will do what it can during the first part of the year, and then it’s time to kick it in late with Kentucky and Vanderbilt part of the mix. This year, though, it might take a win over Missouri to ensure a bowl appearance
I don't disagree with this.

I don't care how bad we been it the last 5-6 yrs. we are not starting a losing streak against an Ole Miss. team. We will start our way back to the top by putting away these typs of teams Ole Miss, Vandy

Depending on what kind of impact the freshmen have and how our QB is playing...UF, Ole Miss, and USCe seem to be winnable games. Not saying we should bank on winning...just saying those three games could be huge.

I also expect this to actually to happen ..

But don't be surprised if steal one versus one of FLA - GA - SC . I think we end the FLA curse this year.

Ole Miss is a good football team and SC will be wanting to kill us from we did to them last year ha .

I agree. We will have to upset someone we aren't favored against and win all of the ones we are favored in to get there too.
UT should be favored against Mizzou and Vandy by the time those games come around. Unlike many, someone at CFN seems to have looked at Mizzou's roster losses realistically.

I'm not really sold on Georgia being the same with Murray gone. Alabama always has talent on their team, but they are without McCarron. Florida better get better than last year if they want to compete. I think it is a wait and see year. Coach Jones has recruited some great talent and I would wait and see after the first two games before I would make any major prediction.

A 6-6 regular season and a win over a lower-tier opponent in a lower-tier bowl would make me very, very happy.

I dont think Ole Miss and USC are very winnable at all being road games in the SEC with such a young team.

To me, the most winnable and key games will be Florida and Missouri, both at home and both against teams that are beatable.

I think we will have between 5 and 7 wins. The offense will have to be clicking on all cylinders to outscore our defensive woes.

I dont think you will have a much clearer picture after playing two cupcake non-conference opponents at home.
