CFP Quarterfinals Rose Bowl: #8 Ohio State vs #1 Oregon (5pm ESPN)

There were no penalties called on either team in the first half. I can't recall that happening in any game I've ever watched.

I told a coworker that was a tOSU grad after our loss that tOSU was the best team that I saw Tennessee played all year. It looks like they could be the best team in the country. Let's see of Oregon can rally.

I log in just at the first half ending and see the score and think, wow, I am feeling better about our loss some how even though I shouldnt.

Second question though. Does this mean that Oregon never should have been in the playoffs in the first place? Thats what we heard when it happened to us.

Well Oregon kinda went undefeated in the regular season and beat 3 playoff teams doing it, including this Ohio State team. Hard to make that argument.

Oregon beat Ohio State. You look at the one loss teams and you pick. I would have put Oregon in with a 4 team playoff or a BCS championship game (against GA). They are ranked #1.

Oregon with two key starters out for the second half. Score being what it is, you cannot help but wonder — or maybe you don’t have to wonder at all.

If it wasnt obvious, I was being facetious. ;)

But a lot of people, even here on this board made the same argument about us because of our loss to OSU, though we fared better than they have in the first half at least.

I'll be honest, Jeremiah Smith might be the best player in the country right now. What is he, 18 years old??? He has 3 years left but will surely only play 2 more years. He is so good he'd probably be taken 1st or 2nd in the draft this year. He will without a doubt be one of the greatest ever.

We lost twice, including once to a 6-6 team. We really struggled for long stretches in several games we won. We benefited from playing 6 of the worst 7 teams in the SEC.

We should have been in based on our record, but if we played every single playoff team in a home, neutral, and road game, I doubt we win 10 of the 33 games, and we likely win none of the 11 on the road.

Well lookie here. 15 straight points. 20 more to go. Just gotta figure out how to stop OSU.

Nice double dip from Oregon to get the OSU win probability down to…97.2% lol.
