I'm just advising you on how to gain respect. Do as you please.

I'm not here to get respect on knowledge about sports, thats not my cup of tea. I'm here because I love the teams that I love and one of those in common would be the vols. And people telling me who I should and shouldn't root for, who I can and can't root for, definately don't get respect from me. And if you want to bring Jake into it, the reason why he gets respect is not because of his like for the steelers, but because of his vast knowledge of sports.

most normal people's hatred of teams comes from losing to said team when championships are on the line.

I don't think I've ever seen you post in a Vols forum, oddly enough.

What exactly is the reason for disliking Cowboys, Steelers, and Colts?

Cowboys I have always hated since I started watching the pros, just have a huge dislike for the team, their annoying fans, and the fact that the panthers can never beat them; Steelers its a personal thing, not going into that. And the colts=peyton, once he is gone, I could care less about the colts.

I post in there on occasion, and I have today, but I mostly just read in there, I don't post because it gets too serious and too much unwanted bickering.

Ultimately, if your favorite team did not even make the playoffs you really are not qualified to taunt any team that lost in the playoffs.

Don't wear tighty whities. I would guess the negligee you put on everytime OE and a few others log on has gotten bunched up a couple of times though.

Well since you're into bandwagoning, I've got a site you should check out.

While yes its different, blah blah blah, to us peyton haters, the logistics don't matter, its who has done it first. GO ELI! :):p
yeah, why let facts and good football get in the way of semantics. From now on, the level of involvement you have in discussions about football should be limited to two things: 1. whether or not you think the qb is hot or not, and 2. do you like the uniforms or not. if you stick to those two things, you'll be fine, and it will make the rest of the discussion much easier on the rest of us.
I think the problem a lot of people have is that a guy like jakez4ut has been cheering for the Steelers his entire life. You've been cheering for several teams for a few years. Yet, when any of those teams manage to beat Cowboys/Colts/Steelers you gloat about it. That doesn't jive.

Additionally, if you've only been following football for four years, it should be illegal to root for the Patriots unless you live in Boston/Foxborough.

Also, Eli Manning's first season was in 2005, so if you've been following the NFL for four years, you should still be aware of how long it took him to get to the Super Bowl. He was the freaking number one pick, after all and there was a whirlwind of controversy surrounding his draft/trade.
there's a term for this fan: Bandwaggon. and Windy has her ticket in hand, waving it proudly.

i'll give her this much, at least she doesn't quable over the fact she is a bandwaggon fan. fwiw. (windy, that may be the nicest thing i've ever said about you, you may want to mark this post and save it for good keeping):eek:lol:

Being a Panthers fan, how could you hate those teams and not the Pats, who beat your beloved Panthers in the SB 4 years ago?
i have two reasons to hate the patriots, the afformentioned game above, i honestly thought the panthers were going to go to ot in that game and have a shot at 'em. the panthers played great in that game.

and the Pats have beaten the Steelers twice in AFC championship games, both at Heinz feild, one of which i was present for in -15 degree weather. that was a long cold walk back to the car. and i haven't forgotten any of those three games.

Exactly. Those are the things that grow hatred and shouldn't be overlooked because "their QB is hot".

I think that's why alot of younger fans don't understand the hatred towards bammer that the older fans have. During my formative years, bammer beat us like a drum on a regular basis. UF is starting to approach that, but bammer will always be the most hated team for me. Same goes for the UK BB team.

nothing brings people together like good old fashioned hatred.:)

and i agree about Bama. i was born in to a 10 game losing streak. saw us beat them twice as kid (somewhere around 8 or 9 years old), then had to wait til i was 22 to see us beat 'em again. for some reason, i can't let that go.

and FL is directly behind Bama. in fact, it's 1 a and 1 b as far as i'm concerned. the 6 year streak and the current 3 game streak haven't set well with me.
