Chances the Vols have a great recruiting class

Really good interview. I don't really know what to think about Dooley. I would bet a lot of money that he is a more honorable person with higher ethics than Kiffin... but I'm not sure how much that honestly matters in college football. Saban is a notorious a-hole. Spurrier was a little punk at Florida (and I found him really funny at times). Either way, I don't get where you think that he has more "football smarts" than Kiffin from that interview. Like I said, I thought the interview was good, but it was mostly coach-speak.

Not trying to be whatever on Dooley... I'm going to give him his chance. But, we won't know for a while how good Dooley is as an actual coach.

Well-said.

I don't understand why some of these people even have a UT badge under their name. They aren't even planning on giving this guy a chance. Maybe if you looked at the dude from the standpoint of coaching ability instead of just his record which was marred by a FREAKISH amount of injuries to KEY contributors in '09, you'd be able to form a more objective opinion.

The dude was the only head football coach in the country to also serve as the school's AD. He completely reinvented the Athletic Department during his 2 year tenure from the ground up including hiring a new women's b-ball coach and revamping the facilities.

The 2009 team at LaTech, IN SPITE, of having multiple injuries to key players, lost 5 of their games by a combined 23 points including the first halftime lead over LSU since 1904.

Nick Saban hand-picked this guy to be his recruiting coordinator because of his attention to detail and organizational skills.

I'm not saying jump on the Dooley for coach of the year bandwagon, but give the guy a chance to coach some games.

What concerns me is that this year is going to be bad, and it was regardless of who the coach was going to be. This Dooley hate will not subside until we show marked progress in '11. That is a long time to have to put up with this crap.

Excellent points Sab...you just need to except the fact that 90% of the people on this board with the "I'm certain that Dooley is going to fail" mentality are about 21 years old or much, much younger...

It's the equivilent of trying to reason with a retarded person

Very well said Sab!!

Im starting to hate my fellow fans.

Don't. They'll find out sooner rather than later that Dooley is the right guy for the job. Then they'll claim how happy they were to be proven wrong all along. Just like these haters did with Bruce Pearl... All will be well in Vol Nation.

If that happens, I will be more than glad to eat my words, and I will be happy to be proven wrong.

Good post Sab! As one of the other posters stated, I too believe that most of the negative Nancy's on here are still wet behind the ears. I believe we'll be fine in the long run, but the CDD bashing on here will only get worse after next season. It's a shame.

GBO!!!!!

If they are ,in any way, Tennessee fans you may be correct. However, if the are, as we suspect, enemy fan disguised as Tennessee fans, we will hear nothing from them. Silence is bliss.
