Change Bristol Back

I like that they are changing it back. I just was not impressed with the racing at this years food City 500. Call me simple but I just liked it the way it was.

I think they went over 200 laps without a caution at one point. That's right...200+ green flag laps...at Bristol. Something had to be done.

Yeah, be careful saying that out loud though, the "purists" will call you a knuckle dragger.

Right, cause no credit should be given to the fact that these are some of the best racecar drivers in America. You may want to go support your local dirt track if you like caution laps.

I don't want to sit and watch a caution filled race either, but that many green flag laps at Bristol is unheard of. I was at the Nationwide race the day before and they went the first 100 laps without a caution. By lap 80 I was wishing someone would hit the wall or something to spice things up. Less cautions/wrecks mean less fighting/excitement, less fighting/excitement mean less ticket sells/attendance. Gas prices, hotel costs, the economy, etc. factor into it as well, but alot of people choose not to go because it just isn't like it used to be.

Coors, or doozer. Did either of you all go to the food city 500?

I went to the Nationwide race on Saturday. Due to a family conflict i had to sell my Cup tickets. I have had season tickets for 8 years now. Very rarely do i miss a race. I am not saying that i dont like the beating and banging of the old track. I just appreciate the 'racing' on the new track better. To each their own i guess. We can agree to disagree.

I will probably get flamed for this, but i like the racing on the current track. Outside of the first and the last 50 laps on the old track it was simply follow the leader for 400 laps. My wife has actually fallen asleep at a race....sitting on the 3rd row. At least now there are multiple race lines that lead to competitive racing for the whole race. I heard Steve Addington on the radio last night talking about how most of the teams and drivers like the newer configuration and that Bruton should leave it alone. If anything just make the tires give up sooner.

The teams can like it as much as they want, but when only 50k fans show up for the Cup race, it's going to be cause for concern. Save the pure racing for some of the bigger tracks IMO. People like Bristol because of the mayhem it can create, it was a change of pace from the "pure" racing that goes on most weeks. The new configuration had all but eliminated that mayhem, and I for one am glad to see them taking steps to bring back the old Bristol.

There's plenty of other tracks for side by side racing. Get Bristol back to the pushing and shoving that put the butts in the seats.

People weren't showing up before the surface change.

This appears to be a harder concept to grasp than I originally thought. Bruton is letting the inmates run the asylum.

Jail keepers don't buy the tickets.

People also weren't griping as loud before the surface change. Believe it or not, the surface is an issue to fans.

They need to change martinsville. Too much beating and banging. Fans don't want to see that!

Let's just wipe all the tracks off the schedule except California, Michigan, and Pocono and alternate between those three. They have the most exciting racing anyway.

Why do we actually race all the cars at once? Why not just award race points at the end of qualifying. Pure racing IMO.

So sick of these knuckle dragging fans who don't like 200 laps of green flag racing.

Where is the outrage for a boring Martinsville race? Only six cautions and 10 cars on the lead lab, sheesh that sucked. Something has got to change. Guess i am just dragging my knuckles...... whatever that means.

I went to my first NASCAR race ever last year to Bristol. Fun environment but the race did not live up to expectations. Pretty boring. I figure if I wanted to watch a race like that, I would go to a faster track like Atlanta.

Need to tear up the surface. That fixes everything.

Martinsville has enough push and shove racing to make it watchable. It's not the amount of cautions, it's the bump and grind that comes along with short track racing. Bristol doesn't have that. Sorry, but people watch short track racing to see them lean on each other. If you don't like people getting close or touching, stick to F1.
