Jeff Burton said the top groove is gone. Don't expect to see anyone up there next race.

It has nothing to do with the track. Attendance is down everywhere. Nobody is selling out, and the decline came for everybody at the same time. It's really not that hard to understand.

I am pretty sure bristol sold out everytime until they changed the track.(don't hold me to that)

Which coincides with the introduction of the COT which coincides with the decline of NASCAR in attendance and ratings.

I don't doubt they'll claim a "sell out" for the fall race, but tickets won't be hard to find and they won't be expensive like they were 10 years ago.

Bruton Smith lost all credibility with me when he claimed he didn't even know they were reconfiguring the track last time until it was too late.

bristol had a 2 year waiting list for season tickets about 11-12 years ago. i am sorry but if you believe that the decline of ticket sales at BMS is driven by the economy, then i honestly don't know what to say. all these other cookie cutter tracks where there is no passing and no excitement have never sold out consistently much less had waiting lists for season tickets. the economy played a role, but the driving factor for BMS is the product on the track. i know way too many people who don't even go anymore because of it.
