Charlie Strong

You mean like Kevin Sumlin, who just beat the #1 team in the country in his first year in the SEC?? Charlie Strong has cut his teeth in the SEC as a DC and has turned Louisville around. Weaker conference, yes. But he would recruit like hell at UT and has the resume. Worked under Holtz and Spurrier, both NC coaches. Has proven himself at EVERY job.

I agree with you. Some people on here just do not get it. We are not getting Gruden. I can see Strong being here a long time. And yes he can recruit and knows what it takes to win in the SEC.

I know, I know.......links. Have none but am hearing from sources from several different directions that he will be the new HC at UT. Stay tuned.

Charlie Strong is HORRIBLE. Louisville has not played anyone worth a ---- this season. Syracuse was average and took them to the wood shed. I would rather keep Dooley than hire Strong.

Looking for someone who's never lost a game????
I'd take Charlie in a minute, you've been handed your butt for years now, I think your a racist.

You havent kept up with L'ville at all have you? Because if you did you would see how overrated he is. I live in louisville and have seen teddyu bridgewater bail him out of atleast 3 games this year. Do you research before you start throwing out names and look like a idiot.

Days will be darker if Charlie Strong comes here. He is a joke of a coach.

I did not know that Coach Strong was an african american when i clicked the "like" button. oops. That's obviously a racist remark and I certainly didn't want to 'like' it.

I don't think he's the right coach for UT at this time.

Look here moron I've been a Gator fan for 40 years and he is the best D coor we ever had, he's done quite well in Louisville in the last two years and I REALLY HOPE YOU DON'T GET HIM. Doesn't matter because whoever y'all hire will help us extend it to a 10 year winning streak. I've done research on Charlie maybe you should take off your orange and white glasses, I bet if your old enough you hated when Tee Martin played at UT being the racist you are. Don't worry I'm sure they don't like you either.

If the above post is what your reality is I think you need strong medication immediately. Coach Strong would be an ideal choice for UT if they want to return to being a relevant SEC program, He's a proven top notch recruiter in sec country specifically Florida where some of the best high school talent in the country are. He was a highly successful D coordinator at florida. I guess most fans are more interested in getting the "sexy hire" rather than basing the decision on a coach's resume.

If Tennessee played Louisvile this year Bridgewater would throw all over us and Louisville would win. Smart would outcoach Dooley with less talent. Who cares if he is in the Big East, the guy can coach a team up and has a great recruiting past. If he can do that at Louisville imagine what he can do here with a top notch recruiting budget and top 5 training facilities in the nation.

C Strong would be a good fit with UT. I think he could salvage this recruiting class, keep Graham, Pittman, and yes, Chaney. Strong could put his D stamp on this team, at least he would play Bonner.

Louisville should not be able to compete in the SEC on the field because they cannot compete with the SEC off the field (recruiting, budget, recruiting on a national level).

Exactly. All things aren't equal. Strong is taking Louisville to their programs maximum potential. Anybody want to guess what that would mean here if he did the same?
