If you don't like the idea of Charlie Strong being the coach your racist?? Oh boy well lets all welcome him aboard so no one thinks we're a bunch of racist hill-billys'! SMH!!!

Yea for a couple of y'all, "dark days" sounds pretty racist to me and I'm a White man

I really don't care who y'all pick, if something happened to Champ and Charlie was in line for the job I'd take him. At least you would have one off the best D's in the SEC.

That has NOTHING to do with anything.

Louisville cannot recruit the same players we can here.

so that arguement is so dumb

If his entire body of work as a head coach cannot be compared to SEC caliber-competition, then how in the world can you say he would be a good coach here?

I know, I know.......links. Have none but am hearing from sources from several different directions that he will be the new HC at UT. Stay tuned.

If a UGA poster is more connected than you, then you're a VN insider...

If Tennessee played Louisvile this year Bridgewater would throw all over us and Louisville would win. Smart would outcoach Dooley with less talent. Who cares if he is in the Big East, the guy can coach a team up and has a great recruiting past. If he can do that at Louisville imagine what he can do here with a top notch recruiting budget and top 5 training facilities in the nation.

Strong's team of pretender's got destroyed yesterday by a 5-5 Syracuse team...I've said it a bunch of times that when he finally played someone he would get smoked...I was wrong, He played a nobody and got smoked lol...Oh yeah hire him!...Dooley 2.0

So only a coach that has succeeded as a HC in the SEC will convince you of future success?

Urban Meyer, Spurrier, Miles, never played SEC competition
they are doing fine

Al Golden???...OMG no...That guy has done NOTHING at Miami...Besides he won't leave Miami to come to Tennessee.

He would. NCAA probation is on the way. Mr. Shapiro saw to that.

I think he's a quality coach stuck in a rotten situation where the recruits know they are about to get hammered and are deciding to look elsewhere.

Dooley would still find a way to lose with more talent on his sideline. WE LOST TO KENTUCKY LAST YEAR. Dooley has never been a winner. He was at 17-20 at La tech and he is 15-20 as of now at Tenn. Oh btw, did you check out La Tech's ranking this weekend? i'm not saying Strong woud be the next Saban, but he already has done better at Louisville than CDD did at LT or here at UT and in less time.

It's foolish to limit your opinion based solely on competition level. We aren't getting any of the coaches with the criteria some use on here to judge future success

If we crossed off the names of every head coach who ever got hammered by an opposing team in his career, then our list would be an empty one.

Idk if i understand you, but Im not saying that.

Im saying just bc a coach hasnt played good competition bc he has been at a lesser program doesnt mean he cannot succeed at a top program

I was setting him for just that response. He better respond with a coach that has never had a bad loss when he answers who he wants for the hire.

I Am saying the same thing. In fact anybody arguing against you has a foolish argument that is easily shot down with numerous examples proving it wrong

I don't get it. Pat Dye won at East Carolina and Wyoming. I'm certain his teams were blasted out of the water a fair few times. That didn't disqualify him from taking the Auburn job and building a powerhouse program.

Charlie Strong took the mess left to him, recruited Florida like Schnellenberger did when he had the UL post, and has built that program up year after year.

One loss doesn't discount the body of work he's done since he's taken charge at Louisville.

I think he would do for us what Dye did for Auburn years ago. And Dye didn't need a head coaching position at an elite-level school to show he could do elite-level wonders for the program who gives him a chance.

He is a winner-defensive coach, relates to the college kid, can recruit and coach. Big improvement over Dooley.

Look here moron I've been a Gator fan for 40 years and he is the best D coor we ever had, he's done quite well in Louisville in the last two years and I REALLY HOPE YOU DON'T GET HIM. Doesn't matter because whoever y'all hire will help us extend it to a 10 year winning streak. I've done research on Charlie maybe you should take off your orange and white glasses, I bet if your old enough you hated when Tee Martin played at UT being the racist you are. Don't worry I'm sure they don't like you either.

1. Just becuase I dont want a black coach, that makes me racist? White people are ALWAYS racist when they dont want a black coach, bro?
2. Quit well over the last 2 years? how did they finish up last year? 9-1 doesnt make them world beaters. Living in louisville, i have watched every game they played the last few year and they have put only a FEW complete games in that time.
3. When he was at Florida, he was coaching anywhere form 3-9 NFL defensive players at a time, had at the time the best head coach in the country and a NFL stacked offense. That doesnt make him the 2nd coming of Buddy Ryan
