Chase Burns

He’s very good. Very good. But, he isn’t going to rest at a 0.68 ERA for much longer. Competition is going to ramp up starting tonight, and as a true freshmen he is going to have some growing pains.

Still, thrilled to have a stud like him on this team. Let’s get more of those.

I think Pete Hansen & Tristan Stevens are better. Florida State probably has 2 All American-type starters in their rotation. Gonzaga has some really good pitchers. Long Beach State has a stud pitcher. Burns is great and will be an All American candidate in the future, but he’s not even the best pitcher on this team.

Hansen, when the ump gives him the entire strike zone, plus half of the opposite batter's box, is the best pitcher in college baseball.

Why do you think Tidwell is better than Burns?

I certainly don’t think he’s the best in NCAA (yet) but I LOVE his approach and attitude. He’s still learning the approach for every outting and the consistency it takes. Some call it The Process. Having watched baseball for 55 years…he passes the eye test for sure. Hopefully his arm holds up. This weekend will be good for him ….and the Vols!

I don’t know about all of that but as the season progresses and CB matures, we are all going to come to the realization that CB is an automatic win.

Yep, a few more outings like tonight and his ERA will be up to 0.8… oh well, the 0.68 was good while it lasted. 😉

He was a freshman all American on a team that went to Omaha and is universally considered to be a top 15 pick in the draft. Until Burns gets that far or we see regression from Tidwell, he’s the #1arm
Burns just showed again why he’s the #1 pitcher on this team
