Chill out!!!!

We can start with the most important position in football, the QB for each of those teams.

Comp/Att % Yds Ypa TD Int Rtg
A. 206/302 68.2 2,945 9.8 31 3 182.0
B. 233/353 66.0 2,826 8.0 24 13 148.3
C. 193/297 65.0 2,153 7.2 11 8 132.7
D. 140/187 74.9 1,483 7.9 11 5 155.5
E. 38/64 59.4 529 8.3 6 5 144.1

Let me know which of the stats above from 2021 show the most talented guys. (Hint: one of those guys was the talent returning for us.)

Also:
Slovis - new team that lost Jordan Addison (Biletnikoff winner), lost OC
Rattler - new team after losing starting job at OU.
Levis - lost Wan’Dale Robinson (2nd round NFL draft), lost OC to LA Rams
Richardson - new coaching staff, might be better as a TE or basketball player

Don’t confuse ‘talent’ for ‘high school rating’. For example, recently kicked off of Florida edge Brenton Cox: 5 star out of high school with amazing physical abilities. No mental ability. No one was worried about the ‘talent’ uf had at edge coming into this season.

Ok, so since none of those teams’ qbs (B, C, D, E) were better or more talented than what we returned (A), what else did these teams have talent-wise that made those games toss ups coming into the season? Trying to see where my preseason predictions were unfounded.

OP expectations change the course of the season. Yes everybody woulda signed up to be 9-2 at this point. But would they of knowing we started 8-0? Probably not. Lol. You can’t get beat down by a ****** South Carolina team with a playoff spot on the line. That’s a undoing all the progress we made this season. Now it’s critical we win next week with a backup QB to just salvage the season.

Yall are acting like we lost by 3 to them in a game where we outplayed them.

There is effectively nothing that can be drawn as a positive from that game.

USC was a bad team. They obliterated us.

Yardage. Outgained by 100 and gave up 12ypa.

3rd downs. They were 8/11. We were 5/12.

TOP. They had 18:00 more time of possession.

Defense was atrocious but our O, on which it relies, was flat. Getting only 7 in the first 3 drives out of the half told a books worth of stories.

You will find that it is frowned upon to be upset when our team underachieves. You are to be satisfied with any effort level and any outcome. Expecting anything better is just greedy.

Surely you realize you were predicting through very orange tinted glasses right? Just from a talent standpoint Fl, Pitt, USC, and Kentucky were always going to be possible loses.
You keep saying UK, USC, Pitt, UF.
Nobody thought USC and they shouldn’t have.
LSU should replace USC in your turd polishing .
That’s what you’re trying to do is polish a turd.
Nothing about what expectations were before the season or where the program is or is going matter one bit.

Fact is a 3 touchdown favorite got humiliated and the whole D from D coordinator down to the last player was one big turd.

We all knew this was supposed to be a 8-4 season, we all knew our defense would catch up with us at some point. 2 years ago we wasn’t bowl eligible, we beat FL , we beat Bama. If we finish next week at candy this has been an extremely successful season. What we seen last night is a horrific defense that has been sheltered by a great offense get exposed. Nothing more, coaches didn’t forget how to coach, it just finally caught up with us. We are 2 years ahead of schedule and the future looks bright. It sucks to lose to SCjr but that is what makes the SEC the best conf in the nation. Chill out people and be thankful for where we are compared to where we was.
This is a down year for the conference and South Carolina is terrible, particularly without their top two running backs. People are right to be concerned. A team capable of beating Bama should have cruised to victory. If we couldn’t get up to play with the playoffs on the line, something is seriously wrong.

This game helped me to once again gain some perspective that I’d recently lost. This is a kids’ game that isn’t worth the worry and emotion that I’ve placed on it. There are bigger things. I’d come to that realization a few years ago, but got wrapped up in this season.
It’s worth watching, but not worth getting worked up in the least over (either high or low). For that, I am chill. 😁

It's been a good year. How many times have we beaten Alabama and Florida in a season? Last time was 2004, almost 20 years ago. We're still rebuilding and when you're rebuilding, you're still vulnerable to what we saw Saturday. Teams learn over time, both coaches and players, how to avoid such disasters. What this means we're knocking on the door of being a top five team, just not quite there yet.
