where should i start

thinks he's right in any and every situation escpecially when it comes football and politics.
football, yes. Politics is up for debate.
Is against any type of change in any direction as he is set in his ways
No, my opinions change over time. i once thought Bush was going to be good for the country, my opinion changed.
loved the fact that we went to war. didn't matter who we were bombing. someone attacked us so somebody's gotta pay i don't care who it is
I was glad we went after Al Qaeda and the Taliban, they deserved to be attacked. I am split on Iraq, Sadaam needed to go but we certainly failed at so much along the way.
probably dips and wears camouflage to the local wal-mart up their. which to the people in ashland city is heaven on earth.
I own no camouflage, save your retarded comments to yourself, many people in rural areas get what they need from wal-mart.
has money and loads of common sense but yet keeps such a local group of golf and hunting buddies that only agree with what each-other says when it comes to anything really.
I live in a modest home, struggle to pay for books and eating money for my oldest child (he has student loans to pay the rest) while raising a 3 year old daughter along with my wife and try to make ends meet. I don't hunt or golf, I have no problem with those that hunt, it just isn't my thing. I do not golf, hell couldn't afford to if I enjoyed it anyway.
and got pissed when anyone questioned anything bush was doing while we were at war as you thought they weren't being a true american by doing that.
I never questioned legitimate debate about the war, I did question those that decried his every move simply because they did not like the man. I don't do that with Obama, it is childish and those who do I believe must be at least mildly retarded.
If this doesn't describe you or i offended you because it does i am sorry for that. You attacked my opinions earlier stating that i would have to be very young to post that drivel about obama. and while i am young i know plenty of people twice my age that feel the same way i do. and at least half of the country right now as well

See above

As for your last sentence it says a lot, it was obvious you were young to me and many here. There is nothing wrong with being young, when I was your age, maybe younger, I was very anti-government and hated everything that capitalism stood for. As I got older and more experienced I noticed I didn't really hate capitalism, I hated the predicament I found myself in. I realized I had to go out and better my lot in life, nobody was going to do that for me, so I did.

This country is full of moronic idiots (not implying you are one), we elected a man on little more than a bumper sticker, that should tell you something. Remember at one time a large portion of the country voted for Bush.....twice.

Most people who live in Ashland City work elsewhere.

See what happens when you imply a large segment of people are prejudiced and backwards?

Answer: You become prejudiced yourself, those that work at AO Smith probably comprise about 5% of the population in the county/city, certainly not a large cross section.

a mod is just around to keep VN tidy. The powers that be asked us to help since we are on VN quite a bit. A guru is someone who has been around a long time and has lots of posts and was given the title by vol_freak. Pretty much all there is to it

as to the history of VN

I see where your coming from and i think more than anything i let my emotions get the best of me. My step-father is from ashland city and everyday i worked at A.O smith i felt like everyone their was his clone or something. Your right though i didn't like when you stereotyped me thinking i was just young a stupid i shouldn't have done the same to you. We do have one thing in common though we both thought it would be a good idea to put some bad a** looking orange cars as our avatars.

What I was doing wasn't stereotyping you, I simply noticed some similar tendencies you had in common with me when I was younger.

The car in my avatar was owned by a customer I did some work for last year, they were from California and were rabid liberals. At least they had good taste in cars.

If that percentage is correct, most of those you described live outside of Cheatham Co.

And having worked in ashland city, and having family from their i already have my opinion of you and it further explains the crap that you post.

Whether or not you agree with KB, he consistently posts well-reasoned explanations for his positions -- something you should aspire to :hi:

wouldn't matter i could be on here debating with the facts and knowledge of James Carville. you guys would discredit and disagree with everything im saying. That's why they call it right and left. because they're opposites. Would be no different if you were ballsy enough to take your political views and post on a dominate democratic board in a dominate democratic state like Massachusetts. I do enjoy the debate though and i do agree with some of the republican stances on issues like abortion, gay marriage, gun laws, and other issues that concern rights. The day that a politician has proven he can be trusted, be an idealist without being utterly crazy, will put the american peoples needs ahead of those funding his campaigns, and can get congress to work together. I will be the first one in line to vote for him/her. NO MATTER WHAT PARTY HE IS WITH.

but that just seems like so far fetched it's not even worth thinking about

Good post, and most of which I agree with.

With that said, I am forced to vote Republican.

unfortunatly i think i am now forced to vote democrat as I've argued with my republican girlfriend so much that I'm afraid if i give in and we ever get married I'm twice as screwed. The last thing a woman needs is to feel like they have even more control over you. hell the ring is enough

It has to do with your arguments not your positions. This post is a perfect example. You insult us all by suggesting we can't see beyond ideology to judge the merits of an argument. Most on here can but so far you keep showing the inability.

As for being ballsy - I participate on a left leaning board quite frequently but I stick to positions and arguments without telling other posters what they "really think".
