Recent studies have revealed that the Chinese-owned social media TikTok can bypass security protections on Apple and Google app stores to gain full access to user data.

The Wrap reports that according to two recent studies, TikTok can bypass security protections on Apple and Google app stores and gain full access to user data. The studies were conducted by “white hat” cybersecurity experts that hack and infiltrate systems for the good of the public.

The studies were completed in November 2020 and January 2021. The summaries of the studies suggest that TikTok is able to bypass code audits on the Apple and Google app stores. The research also found that TikTok is able to change the app’s behavior without users’ knowledge and access device tracking features that give the Chinese company and third parties access to full user data.

Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) slammed Democrat President Joe Biden’s administration during an interview with The Daily Wire this week, saying that the sanctions that Biden was wanting to put on Russia were nothing more than a “slap on the wrist.”

Tuberville mentioned the importance of going after insurance companies with sanctions if they try to insure the Nord Stream 2 pipeline because that would help to keep it offline, which would be devastating to Russia’s economy.

Sad when Tommy Tuberville gets what most politicians in DC apparently don't understand. The only saving grace is that the Chinese aren't worth beans at building engines for the fighters they are building - even with stolen technology and Russian engines to copy. The world is SOL if they figure it out.

The Biden Justice Department is ending an initiative aimed at Chinese espionage and intellectual property theft over concerns it created a perception of racism, according to a top official on Wednesday.

Assistant Attorney General for National Security Matthew Olsen announced during a speech at George Mason University that the department was scrapping its China Initiative, even though an internal review found no indication of racial bias or prejudice.

He said there were also increasing concerns from the academic and scientific community about research grant fraud cases, which included cases where individuals allegedly did not disclose financial ties to China.

I guess there won't be war with China since it would be considered racist. Good thing racism only works one way so China can roll us over and keep doing it again and again without hurting any feelings.

That headline sounds absurd but apparently the plan is to maintain the program but include other nationals so it's not an exclusively anti-Chinese exercise. As long as they catch the spies it's all good.

I honestly didn't get that the program would be expanded and not just weakened from any of the reports I read. Sounds like the old profiling argument - you know what demographic is problematic, but they can't be treated that way.

Watchdog: Amazon Still Working With Chinese Firms accused of using forced labor

Amazon continues to work with Chinese suppliers linked to forced labor among the repressed ethnic minority Uyghur population in the Xinjiang region, according to the Tech Transparency Project (TTP).

The tech giant’s most recently updated suppliers list includes five companies that allegedly have either direct or indirect links to the forced labor of the Uyghur community, the group said.

Three of Amazon’s suppliers — Luxshare Precision Industry, AcBel Polytech and Lens Technology — have reportedly used forced labor directly, according to the TTP, a research initiative of the Campaign for Accountability.

Two more suppliers, GoerTek and Hefei BOE Optoelectronics, are allegedly supplied with products created by forced labor, it said.
