The Chinese Communist Party paid a Washington, D.C., radio station $4.4 million over the past two years to broadcast propaganda, according to new federal foreign agent disclosures.

The Virginia-based Potomac Media Group detailed its lucrative contract with the Communist Party’s International Communication Planning Bureau in filings last Thursday with the Justice Department. As part of the deal, Potomac Media’s WCRW, an AM station, airs content from China Global Television Network and a series of talk shows that portray China in a positive light.

Beijing’s partnership with an AM radio station highlights the scope of its propaganda activities in the United States, which have gone into overdrive in recent years as China seeks to distract from its human rights abuses. China’s state-run media organizations aggressively promote their content to American audiences on social media and through publication deals with American newspapers and magazines. China Daily, a state-run newspaper, has paid millions of dollars to Time, Foreign Policy, and the Wall Street Journal to publish its articles online. The Chinese consulate in New York recently hired a public relations firm to recruit social media influencers to promote the Beijing Olympics.

Opinion | The Electric-Vehicle Push Empowers China

In May, the International Energy Agency reported that an electric-vehicle motor requires “upwards of 1 kilogram,” or more than 2 pounds, of rare-earth elements. The same report found that China controls about 85% of the global supply of those elements and that the “geographical concentra-tion of production” of critical minerals—includ-ing rare earths, lithium, copper and cobalt—“is unlikely to change in the near term.”

Aren't there supposed to be huge deposits of rare earths in Afghanistan? I wonder if we made a deal on that before we left.

Connecticut 13-year-old in 'guarded' condition after Fentanyl Overdose at school

Fentanyl can be 50 to 100 times more potent than morphine

Connecticut authorities found an unconscious 13-year-old boy at his prep school Thursday morning, suffering an apparent opioid overdose on campus.

Police arrived at Hartford’s Sport and Medical Sciences Academy to find paramedics already applying CPR. They saw "evidence of narcotics" nearby and later determined the substance contained fentanyl – a highly dangerous synthetic opioid.

The teen and two other boys who complained of dizziness were rushed to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, police said. The one who lost consciousness was listed in "guarded condition" while the other two were taken for evaluation.

"It is believed that the three juveniles came into contact with the fentanyl at the same time," police said in a statement.

Farage Predicts ‘A Lot More’ Chinese Spies Will be Found in Westminster

Brexit leader Nigel Farage has warned that there are likely “a lot more” Chinese Communist spies operating in Westminster after it was revealed that an alleged Chinese spy had donated hundreds of thousands of pounds to left-wing politicians in Britain.

Concerns over Chinese espionage within Britain have been escalated this week after it was revealed that the UK’s secret service MI5 had warned the speaker of the House of Commons that Christine Lee, the founder of the British Chinese Project, is believed to be working clandestinely as a spy for Beijing.

MI5 has issued a rare warning that an alleged Chinese agent has infiltrated Parliament to interfere in UK politics.

An alert from the security service said Christine Ching Kui Lee "established links" for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) with current and aspiring MPs.

She then gave donations to politicians, with funding coming from foreign nationals in China and Hong Kong.

It comes after a "significant, long-running" investigation by MI5, Whitehall sources told the BBC.
