Maybe it doesn't make sense, but we are all screwed if we don't protect Taiwan. That means a lot of countries including ours are completely incapable of survival (existing as we know it) without Taiwan. That's a total strategic failure, and self imposed to boot. Almost everything we have, do, and rely on daily requires electronics we don't manufacture - and the sources are almost all within China's easy reach.

That would seem illegal - not sure if treasonous is the correct term. There's a clear cut chain of command, and if Milley broke that chain, he should pay the consequences. There's a process to determine if a president is unfit. It's not up to one person, and it's certainly not up to a general to decide. That act would mean Milley usurped civilian control of the military - that's a direct violation of the Constitution. This (if it happened) is a punishable offense, not one that people should be praising or smoothing over. If it didn't happen, either Milley or Woodward should be prosecuted for lying - there's no room for suggestion or stating that this could happen. I've always considered Woodward to likely be just another opportunistic hack as it is.
