China Thread

Watching Sunday morning shows, Bill Gates praised the rise of Beijing, says it’s good for the world. Yet, he worries about cow farts and ending the consumption of meat as we know it. I take it Melinda must have repeatedly hit him in the head with a frying pan while they were married because there seems to be ZERO awareness on his part that China is the world’s largest contributor to all things “climate change”.

Bill Gates has to be one of the most clueless people on the planet

I’m wondering if it isn’t close to missile silos. I bet we are worried about damage. It’s the size of three buses.

Maybe we know now why they bought all that farmland up there. It was sold by private interests, but there's got to be a way to stop this nonsense of selling our land to our enemy.

Very interesting interview. As many have thought...including myself, China is in a world of hurt.

I watched this the other day. Just not sure what to make of it, although I have heard this discussed recently. On one hand I hear it and say, okay, maybe. On the other hand, China is China and they do anything by any means necessary. I have a hard time believing this is China's last decade, but I'm no expert in these matters. This is why I love Joe Rogan. Very interesting guests all the time.

I think they are just going to run out of steam because of some of the things this guy points out. Add to that, they have the "lying flat" young people over there now that only do the absolute bare minimum to get by. It's becoming a trend.

Lets compare the CCP to our average
A national standard of economic health is productivity. No one is winning that race for varying purposes and policy

Ha! Some Chinese are taking their cue from certain segments of our society in the US....lazy @$$ kids. This guy connects the dots really well, it seems. If all this comes to pass and the US is in a position with significant leverage, we better have the right guy in office. I also hear reasons from this guy that justify my abstention from investing in Chinese companies. I mostly object to it because you can't trust the CCP and they're all essentially state run companies, like it or not. Look no further than Jack Ma and Alibaba. If he's right about their skilled working class falling drastically, then they have potentially insurmountable problems economically.

Haha! I almost put your first sentence in my earlier post. Your last sentence is why both the Trump administration (who really started it), the Republicans as a whole, a bunch of dems, and the Biden administration too, to some extent, is scrambling to decouple in a lot of ways. We are totally screwed if we continue as we have been. Political alliances don't care so much about this huge problem on the horizon.

Xi will invade Taiwan in next 2 years. I put it at 80%.
Facts are the whole world system is failing..Wars and Rumors.

Agreed. World War II was by far the bloodiest war the world has ever seen as a whole. World war III will be much worse I am afraid. China will become desperate, and desperate countries make rash decisions a lot of the times.

It's a definite possibility, and China is spoiling for a war, but I still can't see any positive in China attacking Taiwan. Taiwan doesn't offer them much as far as land, and to take Taiwan they will have to destroy it. That means they destroy the electronics industries they want - so they definitely aren't destroying Taiwan to save it. Perhaps the only thing they have going for them should they invade Taiwan is that by destroying Taiwan's electronics industries, they deny the rest of the world what they can't have, but that doesn't look like much of a win when they would basically alienate the rest of the world. Maybe the Chinese see a play I don't, but it's hard to see what it is if they do. We and Europe are in a better position to manufacture advanced solid state devices than China, and you'd think destroying Taiwan's ability to manufacture and certainly cutting themselves off from S Korea, Japan, and others in the region would simply be nuts.
