Spy satellites with equivalent camera resolution are in low orbits travelling 17,500 mph and only pass overhead for short durations. A balloon can hover on station continuously for hours or even days if winds are cooperativeWouldn't a Chinese satellite be able to see anything that this spy balloon might be peeping anyways?
That's what the admin is saying. Apparently the safety for things on the ground supersedes the security concern. Also, apparently this isn't the first time. Had them over Hawaii and Guam not too long agoWouldn't a Chinese satellite be able to see anything that this spy balloon might be peeping anyways?
Now you have me thinking. The administration is trying to pass it off as being a threat from debris for not shooting it down. Considering this thing is hovering over rural Montana, I doubt that is actually much of a threat. I'm wondering if there is some kind of weapon on it.That's what the admin is saying. I work with someone intimately familiar with a lot of what's going on in the US right now. She told my wife and I we'd be terrified of we knew the extent of critical infrastructure owned (directly and indirectly) by Chinese concerns.Something you maybe need to worry about more...
"Significant Threat To National Security": US Air Force Warns Over Chinese Corn Mill In North Dakota | ZeroHedge
Fufeng USA’s Chief Operating Officer Eric Chutorash has since denied that the mill would be used to spy on or harm the U.S.
The corn mill was proposed to be built 12 miles away from the Grand Forks Air Force Base, which is home to U.S. intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance units, including its top-secret drone technology. -Yahoo!
Said this in the other thread, but this should be an impeachable offense and should lead to mass firings in our incompetent military. This is insanity.
Billions and billions of dollars to a third world corrupt shithole in Europe while allowing our biggest enemy to do whatever they want over our country.
Couple of things.
First, did the Chinese really think we wouldn't notice this?
Second, interesting it has been disclosed publicly by the US.
