Probably not related, but ADS-B showing 7 fighter aircraft loitering off the Carolina's. Never saw 7 with their transponders on and Saturday.

You ok with China shooting down a spy satellite ? Why is a satellite ok, but a ballon is pearl clutching time ?

You don't think when people say China got intel that it could mean they even see what the Biden Administration will allow and how they react to a public breach of US sovereignty? It is clear the Biden Administration cares very little about US sovereignty. The odds are higher that there will be a major event on US soil at some point in the future because the Biden Administrative State took over the White House and has infiltrated the US with clueless ideologues.

Completely different scenario and a total non starter. Outside of sovereign airspace. Anything generally below 100kft is sovereign.

Are you sure you are an attorney? Seriously???? Since I was a TEENAGER, I have understood that under International law, outer space is considered outside a nations’s airspace. Just please PLEASE learn a Little Bit about a subject before displaying your lack of understanding. Shooting down an aircraft under the 100km Karman line is considered LEGAL if it invaded your territory. Anything higher than that is effectively in “International waters” so to speak and its destruction would be considered a legitimate casus belli. This is the way things have worked since the days of Sputnik
Edit: I apologize for my aggressive tone. But I was shocked to see this question. But I realize that this may not be an area of law with which you are familiar. Not everyone has obsessively tracked every development in space travel since Apollo 14 like I have. Sign of a misspent life perhaps 😉

I see where you are going with this, but it’s flawed reasoning.

We perform cyber attacks. We launch missiles into other countries. We do all sorts of things we wouldn’t tolerate ourselves. That’s the world we currently live in.

Is your expectation that the government shrug it’s shoulders and tell people to stop the “pearl clutching” when it happens to us?
