She started with why not use an EMP or something like that. I gave her my opinion which is it’s way too late to control the narrative we already look like morons. Since we didn’t shoot it down over the Aleutians which should have been the response just track it, jam it if it’s transmitting, and shoot it down when it gets back over water. Waaaay to late to act with a determined and forceful response.

The Beijing Joe supporters are ok with this balloon (can't believe we have people ok with a communist China spy balloon traversing our skies) but how far would they be willing to go. What if it was an drone? What if it was a Chinese military recon plane? When is not ok for the Chinese to fly over our country? Do the vehicles have to have weapons?

I've actually come to believe that the Trump is beholden to Putin thing is unlikely. Not impossible. But unlikely.

I do think Putin knew (and knows) how to appeal to Trump's ego. Add to that Trump's desire to show he was Putin’s equal, such that he could choose to believe him, and I think Trumps ego simply kept getting the better of him, as it has so often before.

His question was illogical and flawed. But it will all makes sense as soon as you realize that his response is solely shaped by whether it makes the Biden administration look wise or weak. That’s what this is all about.

On that we agree. Trump’s ego was his biggest fault and others used it to their advantage (for good and bad). Kim K for example used his ego and her ex husband as a way to get multiple people released from prison. “Hey, my husband loves you, you should hear me out about x”

In most classical tragedies, the downfall of the hero is a direct result of hubris. Trump has that fatal flaw in buckets.
We Conservatives don’t need to let him drag us down with him like Captain Ahab. Time to cut him loose IMHO.
