The reasons could be numerous. If the US won't guard its own airspace why should Taiwan has any confidence in these Progressives? I hear naturalized citizens saying this country ain't what it used to be but it's still the greatest hope in the world. Meaning the left is destroying it.

Yeah sending a balloon up that is as big as 3 school busses, slow and visible to the naked eye is attempted covert espionage.

This was a serious question to those that think a Chinese spy balloon is a big nothing burger. Where do you draw the line on incursions to US airspace?

There's all kinds of video of ships and planes gathering off myrtle beach. It really seems like they are going to try to drop it in shallow water and try to recover. Hearing f-15 are getting the nod, as they have set records for altitude. If all that turns out true, this is going to be the flyboy shot of a lifetime. GOD SPEED pilot.

The F15 has a ceiling of 65,000ft. This is as soft of a target one can have One round of its guns will bring it down. This is a nothing burger.

Let’s do a thought exercise. I’ll lay out my assumptions and then the money question. Everything, including my assumptions, are open to discussion.

Assumptions:

- we knew a large, non-civilian, high altitude balloon was inbound to US airspace
- we knew the balloon originated from the PRC
- we knew both of the above well in advance to the balloon’s arrival
- we have scenario planned for just such an event
- given that we are indeed going to down the balloon, the intentions must be either unknown or known to be bad

Money Question:
- Why did we let the balloon drift all the way across the country?
