That's why you don't see me bashing Trump over this or claiming hypocrisy, because it seems this one was very unusual in how far it went.

My theory is that this incursion was meant to be brief too. Probably meant to remain just outside our airspace or briefly over the border for electronic eavesdropping. It then got captured by the jet stream and became impossible to recall with its limited electric motor propulsion and got pulled rapidly over the continental US. Some poor CCP meteorologist probably suffered rather unpleasant repercussions this weekend

It's not a question of "defending Biden," it's a question of attacking idiotic argument and logic.

There is a lot to criticize about Biden. Afghanistan withdrawal, he's too old and has lost more than a step, he should have curtailed needless pet projects in spending bills, the list goes on.

Agree with you that it isn’t simple. But I think that even the Democrats in private will admit that this was a screw up of epic proportions. They know it just made 2024 that much harder as well. The Republicans have to be careful though and not overplay it. The next election will be won or lost on the economy. James Carville made the wisest political statement of the past half century back in the Clinton days. It is the economy, stupid. The Republican who becomes the nominee will have gotten the nod by bashing on Biden on cultural issues; but then will have to focus like a laser on inflation and standard of living. THAT is the delicate balancing act. And that is one that Trump is temperamentally incapable of performing. It will be challenging for DeSantis but possible
