Chip Brown report: Texas A&M to the SEC

Jackie Sherrill and a guy from ESPN radio Dallas were on Basillio's show this hour and both of them said they didn't see Texas and A&M separating.

The combined credibility of that group just barely exceeds that of "a friend's brother is a big time donor" on here.

If I were Oklahoma and TAMU, I would conspire against Texas and join the SEC without them.

I have to agree with Velo about OU...most of anything I've seen about them flirting with the SEC has been nothing but conjecture mixed with a lot of hope. I've not seen much of anything concrete that they were ever seriously an option for the SEC.

Are you a transplant to Texas from London?

When did people decide to start saying arse? It is painful to read. No chance you would actually say arse in a conversation

Arse, and variations therof, is a version of southern English pronunciation, not the UK.

Maybe it's just me, but it seems that if Texas stays it's because they didn't think A&M and OU would stand up to them about going to the SEC.

Maybe but I've still seen nothing concrete about OU to the SEC, just a lot of hope and speculation.

That and the fact that those who choose to remain are giving into Texas on the TV deal...again.

they'll have to rename the big-12 "texas and it's *****es" conference.

How would that be any different in a PAC 16 eastern division should Texas join. It would seem to me that a holdout or two will have been the ones preventing Texas from making the jump should it happen that way.

only way they are getting texas to stay in hte big-12 is to pay em off. pac-10 isn't willing to do that.

Which is why I no longer give a damn about being in the same conference with them. I hope they head your direction, and we head east.

If Texas says they are staying in the Big 12, I think TAMU owes it to them to continue to "entertain" the SEC offer for at least another week. Hell, maybe Oklahoma too. Just to make them sweat it out that they made the wrong decision. haha

Ding, ding. RT @ChipBrownOB: Once Neb and CU left, a TV network saw realignment about to blow, stepped forward with plan to save B12.

TAMU has someone worried.

I think I just became an Aggie fan. I will have to place them right there behind my #2 team, LSU. At least that Aggie has gonads.

Suppose you ask a pretty girl to your party.

Suppose she says no.

Suppose you convince one of her two best friends, and she accepts.

Suppose you ask the other best friend, and she says yes, too.

Suppose you ask the pretty girl, again, now knowing that her other friends are coming.

Maybe she comes, too.

Maybe the first song played at your party is the, "Yellow Rose of Texas".

Without doubt, if A&M truly gets an invitation, there is hopes by the SEC that Texas might follow. Not a bad plan really.
