I hope we do beat them, they claim they are going to embarrass the conference by blowing us out which is about the stupidest thing I've ever heard seeing as how we haven't been a threat in the conference in 10 years
Saban really gave stoops a hard on for the conference didn't he?I am not sure who "They" are, most think that OU is catching Tennessee in a tough spot, in Norman which is traditionally not an easy place to win. But I will say this, Tennessee will get OU's best game, and Stoops will tell you that. Most of our fanbase are looking forward to a great series, I for one am really looking forward to visiting Knoxville next year.
Oklahoma beats Bama one time and they expect to be crowned champions of the world. Meanwhile I would imagine most OU fans would dismiss getting beat by Texas Tech, Texas Longhorns, Boise, and Florida to my recent memory. They had the same coach, won the Heisman trophy during that time and had wonderful recruiting, but still lost because of big game Bob.
I have been in OK 10 yrs and I haven't seen OU do thus to anyone but a mid major !
Different year, different team so stuff it.
You see this....this is the problem with letting a storied football program slide into irrelevance. It makes me sick to get smack talked on our board by every opponent, big and small, that we face. How long must we endure this crap? We are way too talented of a board....our smack is strong. When will it be our time?
It's the little people, the posters, that are ultimately effected the most. Damn you Kiffin, damn you Dooley!
I probably should have typed this in blue. Rant over...carry on.
Might want to check your facts, the Sooners have beaten Alabama 3 straight times under Stoops in the past 12 years. In fact that equals the Vols number of wins in the same time period in four times as many games. As for the losses you point to over the last 8 years or so (since you mentioned the Boise loss), I believe Alabama lost 22 games in that period... some of them to teams like... Utah, Oklahoma State and yes... Louisiana-Monroe. And in that same period we won't discuss Tennessee losses. My point here is not to knock on either Alabama or Tennessee, but to say that OU is a top program, that has performed better than just about any other (save Alabama over the last 3 years) and will continue to do so.
Honestly, they haven't been tested this year either and AL didn't play like they cared to win.....so maybe they underestimate us and be caught off guard. I could certainly see us be hyped up and come out strong for the first half. I think that the team with the best halftime adjustments will be the one with the W at the end. One thing for certain though is that we will start to see just who we are after this game.
I could see this game going one of two ways. 1) OK playing tight and Vols hanging close for a half, then OK pulling away. 2) OK stomping a mud hole. I tend to think it will be option 1. OK -32, UT -17
Nope, much like your board we have a thread that shows the weekly opponents board, nothing new here. As for "Sooo?", I'd imagine it wasnt that hard to piece together, unless this place is like the Okie Light boards where facts are optional.
You're way too wound up sprout...probably need to have a few of those Okie Lights and a nooner with one of your reliable Norman brand meth ho's and come back ready to play nice.
We are over our head and talent at Normal.... There is always a chance in any game but we will need to play like gang busters
