This was an absolutely genius cover by him. Made the song so much more powerful.

My fondest memory of Soundgarden and in particular this song, was in March 2001. I wrecked my '93 Mustang on the way to school my Senior year. I hit a telephone pole doing about 70. The last words I remember from the song was "Save me...".

Ive covered like a stone and plan to have my current line up play it. There's a great acoustic version on the aol sessions.

Soooo much better than the original. Every song that he's ever done an acoustic version of was better than the original imo.

One of my all time favorite musicians. It's unfortunate that he'll be remembered for committing suicide. I've been seeing the memes all over facebook.

Pretty sure he'll be remembered for way more than just committing suicide.

Yeah, no kidding. Robin Williams is also remembered for more than the way he died. But, as is the case with Robin Williams, the way Cornell died will be a prominent topic of discussion whenever he is mentioned.

His wife said he was slurring on the phone and told her he took too many Ativan. Thats why she sent people to check on him...he is said to have been clean from street drugs for over a decade, but if he was still having to slam multiple ativan just to sleep then in my opinion he was still tormented within. I have had several bad habits in common with him, and i understand. I have long said that my own demons within were the ones most likely to take me. Its easy for some people to be their own worst enemy. I have always been. Perhaps the greatest service i have ever done my children and my wife is to put them through Christian school, keep them in church every time the doors are open, and shelter them from ever knowing the desperate struggle that i have never, ever escaped. Sin is fun for a season, but there is always a price to be paid. If you spend years of your life using drugs like heroin, extacy, etc...your body and to an extent your mind never gets over it. Ever. It will always desire those things regardless of what positive Godly things you fill your life with. You can end up in a never ending battle between your mind and the desires of your flesh. Even the apostle Paul who wrote nearly all of the new testament of the Bible asked God repeatedly to remove "the thorn from his flesh". God never did. He is always able, but not always willing to give us what we ask for. There is always a price to pay for sin. Always. Rest in peace, Chris. Hope you are in Heaven brother. Never thought losing a person i never actually knew would hurt like this.
