Fulmer needs Donald and Smith and he needs them now to try to build some momentum in recruiting. I suggest everyone go to rivals and compare our present commit list w/ UF, LSU, and UGA. If that doesnt convince you that we're in deep I dont know what will. And couple that with the fact that you cant get a life long vol fan like Donald to come on board.

Your mancrush for Urban Meyer is evident by how closely you are following UF recruiting and claiming he's the best. You've posted it no less than 5 times and even bump your threads about it when no one responds. It is a looooooooong way from signing day and many 17yo young men will change their minds between now and then. It means nothing until it's on paper.

I guess you enjoy being an also ran, but having spent my college years getting beaten by Spurrior and having just moved from Florida I cannot stand the thought of them beating us for an extended period. UF's down years were 8-4, our 5-6 and getting beat by Vandy. Also my best friend is a UF graduate that counts jeremy Foley as one of his close friends, so I hear about it almost every day. It concerns me and it would concern you if you could manage to take off your orange colored glasses and face reality. By the way I've got your mancrush hanging right here.

You might want to pick up the big name you dropped there. And I doubt that Foley takes the time, or lowers himself, to comment to you on UT and our current situation.

I also sat in Neyland during the mid-late 90's and remember it differently. You choose to focus on the losses while I remember what a great time it was to wear orange. If you don't feel the same then you missed some great football. I also remember a 45-3 game where UF didn't show up for the 2nd half since we're going back in history. And as bad as you think your abuse at the hands of a UF grad is (my brother is one), it does not compare to the abuse dished out by the 2 bammer grads in my family. UF's bad years weren't 8-4, they were a consistent 5-6, 6-5 team not too long ago. But since you probably have selective history too, that may not matter.

Not to rain on Rex's mancrush, but in the interest on accuracy, from 2002-2004, Florida did not actually have a single year where they achieved an 8-4 record. They went 8-5, 8-5, 7-5.

UF, LSU and UGA were all 9-3 or better last year. Why is it a shock that they are recruiting better than us in the preseason? Fulmer needs a good start to the 2006 football season to build momentum in recruiting and then the 4-stars will come regardless of what Donald and Smith decide to do.

I think everyone is now well aware of how badly a sub-.500 season can hurt recruiting. Now, can we please quit beating this dead horse beyond the grave and wait until the season starts? Absolutely nothing has changed in between the time that we brought in a sub-par 2006 recruiting class and today. Why would our recruiting success (or lack thereof) change before we have played some games in 2006?

Ok, I dont know J Foley, nor did I say that I did. It's my best friend a UF alum and big giver to the athletic dept that speaks with him all the time. It's humerous that you tried to slam me for "dropping" his name and the he wouldnt "lower himself" to comment to me. You dont even know me and yet you think the ad at uf would have to lower himself to speak to me. God Bless You.

Actually the point was him taking the time out of his day to talk to anyone about the UT football program when UF sports are in the headlines. Sorry I had to explain it.

Also, my friend's brother's cousin-in-law on my mother's side knows a guy who knows the guy who roomed w/ Michael Jordan in college. They're tight.:crossfingers:

No, it's lifted by quality people seeing a future in you as a person, but whatever you feel like choosing is fine. You want a football factory to brag to your friends rather than a quality institution. I guess everyone likes the orange for a different reason.

Well, which aspect would you like me to comment on? The fact that signing day is only 6 months away and really sneaking up on us? The fact that many players will change their minds between now and then? The fact that a good season this year could change those minds? Like I said before, you want to be able to say "I told you so" if things fell apart. I am the exact opposite.
