As one of the other posters stated earlier, Tennessee is
not a destination job. I have been following Tennessee basketball since the fifties and Pearl is the only coach to
approach greatness ( not there yet ). I just don't like betting on a come. Lets see how this works out. If we get a good coach I will be one of the happiest fans in the world. Just don't have a lot of faith due to our history. GBO

It's depressing for me to know we are likely to lose a great coach in Pearl. I'm hoping for Marshall if this report is true. I do think it is pathetic if the "bump" is the last straw. I'm not even sold that was a violation, much less a major one. All in all, I feel a little uncertain about the future as even a reputable coach like Marshall can fail in the wrong situation. I'd always go for known success over potential success, no matter how fail-safe throwing a bunch of money seems to be.

Not saying he's number one on the list, but I think he'd garner consideration. I'm sure there others too.

I'm having a hard time remembering all the #1's that Green defeated and when we were ranked #1 under Green.

Did Low report that he'd been told that Pearl would be sacked, or that /in his opinion/ he saw no way that Pearl would survive? There's a big difference. Either way, I'll be royally pissed at Hammy and UT if they sack Pearl. Pearl made two mistakes as part of one episode, but there has been too much piling on him by the media and everybody else on this one, in my opinion. He's been vilified...At this point in the process, if I were AD, I'd be sticking by the guy because 1) I assume Pearl has learned his lesson and this is his first screwup; and 2) we aren't getting a better basketball coach. Give the guy a second chance, or we will sink back into the mire that was UT basketball for 20 plus years.
