Do you know how many big-name coaches will want to leave their jobs and come to Tennessee?

We just need 1. Seriously though, sometimes we put too much stock in getting "big name". Would be nice but many great coaches weren't big names when hired: Donovan, Dixon, Painter, Anderson,Miller and every other recent Xavier coach,Wright. It's about getting the right guy. I hope UT swings for the fences but if they don't hire a "big name", doesn't mean they whiffed. Having said that, I would hope I wouldn't have to google the new coach as I did when Dooley was rumored to be a candidate for football.

I would normally agree with you except it was amilestone for our school. First time ever. many schools never reach it once.I would venture only 4 or 5 schools in SEC tops have ver been #1 once in their history.

I just listened to Chris Low's interview on ESPN.

Tennessee AD Mike Hamilton says 'Jury is out' on Bruce Pearl's job status - ESPN

At the end of it, he calls it "surprising" that UT would terminate Pearl, give his success. Is that how it's going to be? The media blasts UT for several months for not firing Pearl, and then (if) when we do, they call it surprising???

Media: Bruce Pearl should not have a job. 90-something % of schools in the NCAA would have already fired him.

Then, UT fires him.

Media: UT is crazy for firing Bruce Pearl. No one else could win there.

The NCAA had better not do a single thing to our basketball program if Bruce is gone. We already self-imposed huge recruiting sanctions. If we terminate Bruce, then that should be it. Otherwise, Ohio State should have to shut down its football program.
