Chris Walker wants to knock Tebow out!

I am not upset. in fact, this is yet another daily dose of my comic relief :) . Philosophical posts based on past experiences mean absolutely nothing to me. I couldn't care less about what people say about Chris Walker. Chris speaks with Coach Fulmer quite frequently. I am sure that this will be discussed when they talk again and then, and ONLY then, will he put stock in anything being said about his comments to the media.

Have a GREAT day!

justin, I don't think he needs you to tell him what to say. He has every right to make the comments he made. Personally, I appreciate the confidence and swagger of someone who hasn't even made it to campus. The guy asked him a question, and he gave an honest goal of his for next season. CWalk displayed what many have failed to do on campus in a while. I certainly won't have to worry about the confidence and enthusiasm he brings to Knoxville.

He can say whatever the hell he wants as long as he backs it up.

I'm sure Mr. Walker is a fine young man who is going to make a great addition to the Volunteers. The quote just points out what the highest profile people in the world learn early and often.... context matters little in a media widfire. This is certainly no wildfire. Way too early for that kind of heat to be generated. Still, lessons can be learned.

Stick with us Brothermom, there are mostly good folks around here....

I don't have a choice at this point. We did a few months ago. My SOLE purpose is to support CHRIS WALKER in EVERY aspect of his life...on and off the field. In the grand scheme of the things, this message board means absolutely NOTHING. MOST days I enjoy reading it. Today included. Good to know what (and who) we are dealing with when we make the move to Knoxville.

Chris' goal is to get a degree from The University of Tennessee and work his hardest to help bring a National Championship to Knoxville before he graduates. That's all he talks about. I will be the first to admit it when he does not live up the expectations of the Vol faithful.

Again, we will all have to wait & see.

I personally am glad to hear about a kid who is fired up and ready to give it his all for the orange. We have needed intensity out there for a few years now. We need that personality, especially on the D side that, that is just chomping at the bit to knock someone's helmet sideways. I certainly hope Chris brings that to the table...I am looking forward to watching him "cash the check".

Thank you. I think you know where C-Walk is coming from. He's 6' 3", 230 pounds with a true linebacker attitude. He will definitely be on a mission in Knoxville.
I can't wait!:dance2:

justingroves, Fine Vol, and others,

Chris was in NO WAY being a cocky Freshman and "spouting off" as you put it. Chris does not have expectations of coming in and taking anyone's position. However, he WILL come in looking to play...that's the kind of competitor he is. He WILL work really hard to get to where he needs to be in the fall. Whether he will play as a freshman remains to be seen. As for him talking to the press (the media), let's blast him for a quote he made at the END of the article without really looking at the content of the article before the quote. Chris is a GREAT kid. He has a lot of GREAT qualities. I happen to know that personally. He has ALWAYS been a competitor. Whether he should keep his mouth shut is not for you to decide. If Coach Fulmer and his staff wants him to "keep his mouth shut" they will certainly tell him sooner than later. Chris' intent is not to hurt Tim Tebow. But I can tell you that if he is given the chance he will certainly put a good lick on him. That's his style...he loves to hit HARD! Chris has worked really hard since basketball ended to get bigger, stronger, faster in preparation for this summer. I would venture to guess that he will arrive in Knoxville ready to go. Just a suggestion, get to know Chris before you pass judgement on him. I think you just might like him. I certainly do. As a matter of fact, I love him!
Seems as though in the past the one normally doing the talking winds up with a big foot in his mouth when the game rolls around.

I think we need someone that wants to knock tebow the hell out. Not to purposefully hurt him - but to lay the wood. Rattle him.

If Chris is gonna be the one to do it, then so be it! I hope he does.

Glad to see you here Brothermom! I hope you don't regret your son's (partly yours?) decision to represent and be a part of the University of Tennessee!

Once again, you are entitled to your opinion, Mr. utfantilidie. Chris didn't make any promises. He was merely asked what he'd like to do.

In this age of technology, it was hard to keep this thread a secret from Chris. I received a text from C-Walk wondering why the people of The VolNation "hated him." A couple of his friends texted him and told him that he needed to check the thread out and unfortunately, he did. He is so over the guys who are hating on him. If he ends up with his foot in his mouth then you will be the big man on campus for your prediction. Stay tuned!

We will speak with Coach Fulmer tonight. We will get his thoughts on the whole article. He is the ONLY person who matters in all of this.

You know, I like what Walker had to say - he's already talking about giving his all for Tennessee. I'm down with it.

Me too. I like that kind of stuff. Whether he backs it up is another thing. But having passion is a good thing.

Linebackers are supposed to want to hit people!

As I stated before, I see nothing wrong with the comments...if Tebow isn't aware that people want to hit him, he'll find out this fall. This really doesn't register as bulletin board material, imo.

And, whether you think he should have said it or not, I bet you all (excluding LawGator) hope he reaches his goal on Sept. 15.

Hell yes I hope he does. I

It's also good to hear that he wants a degree just as much as he wants to play.

Good to know he's got his priorities straight. Nobody hated on him.

I don't think anyone on Vol Nation hates him.

Can you clear that up for us? Some people might have just disagreed with the tact, but nobody hates him!

I said I liked his enthusiasm but he needs to quit spouting off and wait until he's at least in a Vol jersey before saying things like that.

Apparently brothermom took offense. I've apologized.

The point I'm shooting for is every player on that team has to be accountable at all times.I know Marsalous Johnson personally and what he did about the pointing the toy gun was horrible, totally out of character for him, it bothered me alot.He was probably close to being booted from the team.I know this is a way different situation but All of our guys have got to walk the line.I am sure Chris is a fine young man, no doubt.I have three college boys and can understand where you are coming from as far as Chris meaning no harm.

 ...I fail to see the similarity. Walker did nothing wrong.
