Chris Walker wants to knock Tebow out!

Here is something I noticed about Tebow's dive play. The FB goes in motion, leads into the A or B gap, Tebow takes the snap and follows directly behind the FB. No different than an Iso play except the QB runs it and not a TB. I found it mind blowing that teams could not stop that.

We'll see a lot of read options from them, based on the backside DE.

Because UT has been so succesful stopping it. :)

And this is where the myth needs to be fixed. For some reason, UT hasn't been able to stop the triple option, which is a stretch-type of offense, whereas the spread option is more vertical of an option.

I don't think anyone on Vol Nation hates him.

Can you clear that up for us? Some people might have just disagreed with the tact, but nobody hates him!

Exactly . . . I don't think anybody disagrees with the sentiment.

justingroves, Fine Vol, and others,

Chris was in NO WAY being a cocky Freshman and "spouting off" as you put it. Chris does not have expectations of coming in and taking anyone's position. However, he WILL come in looking to play...that's the kind of competitor he is. He WILL work really hard to get to where he needs to be in the fall. Whether he will play as a freshman remains to be seen. As for him talking to the press (the media), let's blast him for a quote he made at the END of the article without really looking at the content of the article before the quote. Chris is a GREAT kid. He has a lot of GREAT qualities. I happen to know that personally. He has ALWAYS been a competitor. Whether he should keep his mouth shut is not for you to decide. If Coach Fulmer and his staff wants him to "keep his mouth shut" they will certainly tell him sooner than later. Chris' intent is not to hurt Tim Tebow. But I can tell you that if he is given the chance he will certainly put a good lick on him. That's his style...he loves to hit HARD! Chris has worked really hard since basketball ended to get bigger, stronger, faster in preparation for this summer. I would venture to guess that he will arrive in Knoxville ready to go. Just a suggestion, get to know Chris before you pass judgement on him. I think you just might like him. I certainly do. As a matter of fact, I love him!

I heart Chris, too.

I know what you're talking about and honestly I can't remember UT facing a true spread option. I know UF has used it, but not as much as they are about to use it. Refresh my memory.

Nebraska (the last time UT faced them) and Air Force ran the triple option.

Pretty sure we won the league in '98, but I get your point, it's been too long. But I have a feeling Mr. Walker will be a fan favorite, love the attitude. Good to know I'm not the only one sick of hearing about Tim Tebow.

If you read her posts you ca see that she hasn't taken it to heart.

yes because "It's only going to get worse [i.e occasional messageboard flaming by vol fans] once the kids sees the field. trust me. no matter how talented and driven he is he will not be perfect. I wasn't trying to be rude, just letting you know the realities of life in the digital age."

translates to me saying her son wasn't fit to be an sec player. . . :rtfm:

you actually try to give some friendly advice for once and. . . :machgun:

I don't think any of that was directed toward you droski

she responded directly to my post

and i quote:

"I don't remember implying that Chris was perfect. In fact, he's far from it. That doesn't stop him from setting his goals high. He may never get the opportunity to hit Tim Tebow. He knows how hard it will be to play in the SEC. He knows how tough Tim Tebow and the other qbs in the SEC are. He watched him run over linebackers. He knows that he will have to work extremely hard at UT to even get a shot at hitting him. If Chris were not up for the challenge, he could have gone to a smaller school. He would have taken that same confidence with him. That being said, I would like to think that Coach Fulmer and Coach Roper would not have wasted their time recruiting him if they felt like he was not SEC material. Chris Walker has been taught the realities of life. He's not walking around in a fantasy world thinking he's going to set the field on fire in Knoxville. I guess we will ALL have to wait and see how it works out. Won't we?"

Having been at the Florida game last year, I would have settled for a tackle on Tebow for no gain.He seemed to pick up 4 to 5 yards everytime he carried the ball against us.I wish someone would have tackled him and put him out for the remainder of that game, we would have won it then.

HA! This is still laughable. I dont listen to kids, especially high school football players, mouthing off before coming to college. Garbage. This kid was and is probably counting on Tebow being "some high school quaterback" he played against this year. This kid, Walker, will come to the realization quickly, that "oh man, everyone is good as me in college and Tim Tebow really did just run through me"

I watched Tebow play against Hoover year before last... he really was just a run of the mill QB in that game. Now at UF it is the players around him that make his play special.

So you really think it's impossible that Tim Tebow could end up average in 2007?
