Before Rush Limbaugh preached the virtues of a nice smoke, I never paid more than $2 for a premium cigar.

I will say that enjoying a cigar in the cool morning air with birdsong sans the accompaniment of outdoor power equipment is becoming a regular thing for me as the seasons turn warmer. Previously, I thought of cigars as cocktail or after dinner indulgences. Not so this Spring. Often, I’m busy later into the daylight hours and spending my evenings with my early retiring spouse who begins her workdays before dawn.

I had a 25$ gift certificate and a 10$ off the last time I went to the smoke pit. I treated myself to this Plasencia Alma Fuerte. I’ve been wanting to try this for a while. I love this hexagonal box wrap.

Great sweep and share of the sec championship.

I will say, this is a good smoke but for over 20$ I expect more. I’ve had this in the humi for 5–6 weeks, maybe it needed mor time.

It is a very well put together cigar, a nice burn line and a good to great draw. It holds a nice ash and the flavors aren’t bad but again I expected more. The flavors are tobacco, earthy, cedar and leather. There is also a sweetness but I can’t really say what the sweetness is. All in all, I will say it’s good but not great and I’ve really been looking forward to smoking this. Like I said, maybe it needed more time. I may try another in the future but not the near future.IMG_0771.jpeg

That’s disappointing to hear. If you bought it at the store it should be ready to smoke right away and not require time in the humidor. I agree that a stick for $20 or more should have some pop. Not sure my tastes are sophisticated enough to notice the difference. I just know if I like it or not.
The mi amor I had this afternoon and the v660 I’m having now are about as good as I’ve ever had.both less than $10.

These came in a 5 pack. Pretty enjoyable at deer camp as well as at home.
They are really blurry, you may be able to see a few deer just over my fence. It’s nice at home when the cicadas settle down for the evening.

My experience with H. Upmann 1844 Reserve robustos wasn’t entirely positive. Tasty, but required relighting repeatedly.

Today is forecast to be late June hot. Presently, it’s still and 66 degrees. Time for a post-breakfast puff, another La Palina oscuro. Though the wrapper is lighter in color than some sungrown cigars, I’m enjoying these.
