Cigar /Pipe Smoking thread

Was having this Cain Daytona made by Oliva a few days ago and thought I would report. Generally well made, good draw. Light leather, some sweetness, kind of a graham cracker instead of shortbread like some others. Some light chocolate. A variety of subtle flavors I cant quite place. A little pepper (redish/blackish/white, its hard to say) at the start but not much. A medium throughout.

I scheduled my next oral surgery for after the bubba game so that I might enjoy a celebratory cigar. Hoping it will be warranted. GBO!

The region as a whole is a wasteland. My home is fine, might have lost a few shingles, but got power and we’ll back yesterday. Cell towers or at least cell service is coming back up but there are pockets still without service. My family is all safe.

Enjoying these Nub cigars lately where I needed a shorter smoke. Good for 45 mins to an hour. Really quite tasty if you like the chocolate coffee coco side of things. Not complex but good flavors. Idea is to start smoking the middle third right away. Made by Oliva and great construction.

This beautiful dark wrapper is described as habano. Nicaraguan filler. Medium-full. Wood, pepper, leather, earth, coffee, and, if you can believe it, a little grass. With all these flavors, the middle third is smooth and a little creamy, like cafe con leche.

The beginning of Fall weather has arrived in North Georgia. Presently, it’s a still 59 degrees. Normally, this is the time I return to enjoying a cigar in the late afternoons, but this morning, I’m on my screened porch with another Pledge. Yeah, I’m supposed to be on a sabbatical from tobacco, but…😉

Pledge Apogee is 58 super good
Melanio Double toro
Oliva V double toro
Flathead V660 - not as refined as the above but still tasty and high coco nibs
The Drew Undercrown gordito maduro is pretty good.

Not impressed
Camacho triple maduro was really kinda disappointing. The flavor was there but not rich.
Had a my father Opulencia but was not impressed.
