Classic pictures that need no words.....

Now days we are so politically correct that, that commercial would be banned.....but probably a lot
of them would and toys too, but hey we all lived thru it!! I even had a creepy crawler set where
you actually cooked plastic lizards in your room unsupervised, but I guess us kids were pretty
radical....lol

Hey who is that in the picture?

Hey did you ever go to the round track in Spring City in the 80's, I used to go there and there was a car that raced in the poor boy class and had "Possum trot run" spray painted
on the side of it, it was a black car, but so beat up I cannot remember what kind it was but we used to have such great times watching those races.
No

After high-school we got into dirt track racing heavy. We'd go to Atomic, Smoky Mtn, 411, Tommy Thompson's (Huntsville), Bulls Gap, Volunteer. Just about every track within an hour of Clinton TN. We went to Bristol the first time they put dirt on the track, that was a lot of fun.

I've not been to Spring City but I heard "Possum Trot Run" was the fastest car around, back in the 80s!

Well too bad you did not come to Spring City in the 80's, you would have laughed for a solid 5 hours, they raced when the car was on fire. the smoke would blow out of the
inside on the straight a way and black flags were not even paid attention too, fights were in the pits if you wanted to go to a fight instead of watch the races, it was
unreal and they sold VHS tapes of the races, I have two of them, opening night and then the next weekend, it was really like a movie you would see.

Lol

Sounds like every Saturday night dirt track I've ever been to. That's why we went so much. We never missed a Demolition Derby

Yep, what was really funny in the poor boy class was people would get mad if their car got bumped so sometimes they would just
sit in the middle and try to hit a certain car every time they came around the corner, but instead they would miss every time and hit
the wall, people would just get their grandmother's old Nova and take the windows out and paint some kind of obscene name on
the door and take it in the class, it was absolutely hilarious. You may have heard of the Tipton brothers, they always raced in the
modified street classes.

I know a dude that raced there. His dad got him started. The stupid dude’s name was Kim something.

I did not know him, but man did we have fun watching those races...
I’m hoping and what I’m shooting for Jakes next week. I’m breaking in a new cook and like I told her today, the training wheels come off this week. I’ve not been to Jakes since....awhile. Since you don’t post a lot or after. I’ll show up at your place of business. I’ll be the one with bad hair and wearing scrubs. I’ll see you next week, around 6:15? I think I remember.
