Was posted on Volquest. SIAP. Merge if necessary.

Older brother was at East Town Mall the other night. He was behind a little boy who was checking out at Foot Locker. My brother said he could tell the boy probably didnt have enough money to buy a ut hat he was looking at on the wall behind the register. The boy pulled out like 9 dollars i think. A guy in UT gear who heard the clerk tell the boy he didnt have enough money turned around and walked over and grabbed the hat the boy was looking at and walked to the register and bought it. The boys father walked over and thanked the young man. My brother realizing how nice of a gesture that was walked over to the guy in his ut hoodie to tell him it was nice to see something so thoughtful. To my brothers amazement (who is a die hard UT fan) it was Tyler Bray. My brother got a quick pic and he said Tyler was very nice and signed a hat for him. The little boy then realized who Tyler was and got the hat Tyler had bought for him signed as well

Just wanted to re-post this story.

I'm honestly embarrassed for some of you Vol fans with the comments you are making towards a kid. Do I agree with some of his on the field antics? Of course not. Does he deserve to be scrutinized? Yes. He's a D1 athlete at The University of Tennessee.

But to call him a "classless punk" and other ridiculous things I've read on here is uncalled for. Some of you have serious issues.

If you would listen to his interview after the Vandy game you would notice he is owning up to his poor play. He didn't hide behind the fact or make excuses.

Tyler Bray post Vandy

"I wasn't playing too good, everyone could see that. I wasn't moving the ball. Wasn't getting anything done."

"No one ever wants to come out of the game."

"I just told the defense the offense needed you tonight."

For what it's worth, I support you Tyler Bray. VFL.

good Post. He has by far the toughest job on the team.

By far.

Against the ranked teams he knew every time he walked onto the field he had to score or they would not win. While he never talked down about the Defense, he and the rest of us knew it was always on him to keep us in games.

Sorry, when I saw the thread title, "Classless Punk", I assumed this thread was about me. It's not, so I'll move on.

Nice story. Tyler played like crap but without him, it's obvious we wouldn't have won a single game all year long.

There's no doubt he cares about UT .

He is still immature and needs to grow up a bit. Take some leadership role and stop acting like hes never thrown a td pass before. Cool story tho.

I remember the story. Very nice if its true..I remeber the stupid stuff i did when I was in college and it would make Bray look like a choir boy. People need to realize that they are still young men learning the ropes and hopefully maturing with each mistake. That said.. I think with the right coaching and leadership Bray will prosper if he stays a Vol and the evil doll Chucky is there to guide him.

I remember this EXACT story happening 2 years ago. I mean, to the T. Not sure if it's old, or if someone is just making up that they saw it recently or what. I know that this was posted at least 2 years ago, while Tyler was a Frosh.

FTR, I like Tyler. I think he's been given a really tough job, and had super high expectations, and has met most of those expectations. In reality, he looks like a "choker" because he has to put up 50 a game to win, and when he's driving for his 5th TD of the game, mistakes happen because no one is fooled by what we are going to do.

There's no doubt that he had a bad game against vandy, but the whole damn team was out of it, not just Tyler. They are grown men, and just because 1 guy acts out of it, does NOT give them a reason to act like it as well. We have a team of followers, when we need a team of leaders.
