If DD is let go ( which I'm certain he will be) I hope that vol nation will give him a big shout of thank yous, he has done a lot of good for Big orange football! I have been a UT fan for years, and can remember how majors was let go, was very sad, then Phillip! Now we have got another coach that put his heart and soul into our football program, we need to show respect! The man and his family have done enough to get my respect, hopefully you feel the same! He is one helluva good man with a great work ethic and deserves to be respected! With a few of the refs calls not been horrible I truly. Feel he would be in office!

From year "zero" he could not catch a break. They all went against him in every aspect of his job. I never saw any signs of that changing. That happens sometimes, but it is time for his bad luck to continue or stop somewhere else. Good luck CDD and thanks for trying.....

for all the good he has done,it's hard to not see the bad also. He ran off past Vols because they didn't call ahead. why? He has thrown assistants and players under the bus in front of the media. He continues to blame "not the right fit" for defense .He waited till game 10 to focus on Defense. He continues to tell the media he didn't have confidence in our offense with 32 sec and 2 time outs. Wasted Time outs, continues to panic on 3rd down instead of just going after the first down, admitted to calling some of the long pass plays on 3rd and short.Recruiting is horrible. Going for size and not speed on defense in one of the fastest conferences in football. Assistants are not fond of him. Signed 19 DB's and Coleman is his best? Been out coaches by Akron ,Kentucky..etc. Still has players not lining up correct. played 2 snaps at Georgia with 9 players . This is not the sign of a well coached team. He is paid big money to be a Coach.

The USC game was a horse collar tackle which was a 14 point call we recovered the ball and they scored, I watched mizz pull curt m jersey like a rubber band on 4 and 7 which would have won the game'
You can also go back and see we Hold,we almost horse collar tackle etc. Well coached and motivated teams get past this. we are not as good of a team now as we was in week 1.

I think 5 million dollars is thanks enough. Bone head game management, bone head comments and general attitude. Derek Dooleys time at Tennessee is going to be remembered as one of the darkest times in Tennessee history, you go ahead and thank him.

Im sure you think last place deserves a trophy for effort.

It's clear these guys don't feel like UT and the Players deserve a coach that puts them in the best spot to win and be a successful program.

I'll give him the same respect he's treated our former players and current players. None

I know you and some others love the guy and his folksy "sayins". But he's not earned the respect Majors and Fulmer have. Not even close. So when he collects his $5 million parting gift he can rest assured that's all he'll get from me.

I've said time and again. Some on here are fans of DD over the team. They blame everything and everyone except him. It's always the fault of "the calls", former coaches, players, asst coaches, the media or the fans. It's never Dooley's fault. Do to their worship like love of him they can't see how much of a failure and ass he really is. It's almost cult like.

Remember you can't judge Dooley by his record. As Dooley lovers have told us time and again.

On the record, I agree. Grace and dignity need to lead this process of transition.

I agree that Dooley is a good man. Took our program out of the pit when nobody in the country wanted to be our coach. Has improved it in many ways except the one that counts, the w column. If fired, I wish him the best and hope he can get another coaching job. Not worried about him going hungry though. Nice reward for trying to build a bottom feeder. Maybe someday our vols will be back.

Hey coach DD, take the 5 million bucks and my appreciation, and move on. You did your best. Thank you for that. You were not prepared for this job, from day 1. I feel certain, one day, you will get your "Destination Job", and bring success to a program. I hope you have learned a great deal from your short time here. Good luck Coach. God bless you.

Not true, not true and not true. We had other options at Head coach. What area has he improved, and don't say Offense because any offense with another year under there belts and a RB coach would be better.

You obviousy don't own a business or are in higher management in your employment?

Here is a bosses or someone that leads statement:

Coach, We pay you over 2 million a year, Do you feel you have earned this money. Well sir, as we do admire your hard work, endless nights and your dedication to building young men and players, the results are not there. I believe we will have to let you go and start towards a different direction. I do believe you have secured a great foundation but Our fans are our customers and they clearly don't like the product on the field. May God Bless you and your family on your next adventure.

This is how I would fire him...........and sir..........this is really how most CEO's do it. At least the one's with integrity. You give respect while talking about failures. And this guys is what us older men say about growing up.

PS: stop being a generation of I want it know. Great things are built carefully.

Flame away!

Bowl Game ??? Really........I hope we will decline even if we win both games. Look for Vandy to have pay back. I hope not.

Not even a Fan, why waste your time!

The horse collar was the correct call. The grounding was the one they missed.

A good CEO recognizes failure early and makes a change. Dooley has treated our former players with a lack of respect and throws our current players under the bus. He's shown his colors to those who will open their eyes and see.
