Do you think Marshall is a lot better coach than Martin? Would we have been in better hands all around with Marshall? I just can't understand this hire at the moment.

How certain are you that we are hiring Gregory?

Cleveland is pretty awful too.
Cleveland is still in the top portion of the NBA in attendance this year. The Browns sell out every Sunday. The only time the Indians don't draw is when they suck. The Braves and Hawks can't sell out playoff games.

Could you add a little color as to why you think this is an "all-around retarded" quote?

1. We didn't fire Bruce Pearl because of his performance.
2. Aside from the whole "excitement" aspect, and Martin seems pretty charismatic himself, I'd be willing to bet he knows more than Pearl does about player development and coaching defense. Probably recruiting a PG too.
3. A lot of people watching the 2009 football team said it was the most well-coached Tennessee football team they'd seen in years. There's a reason for that; Fulmer's time had come.
4. I wouldn't call both upgrades as far as what they've done for UT, but both changes needed to be made and both seem like they did/will field teams that know what they're doing on the court/field, more so than their predecessors. So, for Travis to act like they're the two biggest downgrades in recent memory is pretty retarded.

Quick question, hat. Were you correct about who you said we were going to hire based on the people you talk to?

I can maybe understand not getting Marshall because UT isn't willing to pay him enough. But how do you not offer Ben Jacobson at Northern Iowa first? He's been to the NCAA tournament twice, the sweet 16 last year, and he makes 450k a year. He's 109-59 (.649) at Northern Iowa. We couldn't offer him 1.5 million, 3 times his salary and lure him away?

Laugh at ATL all you want, but at least we have the pro teams.

Any city in TN would kill for a franchise like the Braves

I lived in Atlanta. The braves are a good product and it's so difficult to get around downtown that the city doesn't support them.

I appreciate your reasoning. Thanks for taking the time to lay it out.

It's impressive. The city sucks, and the teams are worse, but their fans are loyal. They don't just show up, they create a great atmosphere. 27 game losing streak this year and they still sell the place out.

Back on topic.

I usually like Clay, he's usually entertaining....but he's dead wrong on this.

I feel like I'm getting dumber listening to 3HL so far today.

Travis's idol is Finebaum.....the turd doesn't fall far from the rectum.

Marting isn't my first choice either but I'm a glass half full guy so I see positives and potential in him. I was a huge Pearl supporter so I would have liked to have stuck it out with Pearl as well. But Travis's public negativity towards Martin is unnecessary if he claims to be a fan of Tennessee. Travis doesn't know if he will succeed or fail anymore than the next guy.

I'm a Braves fan. In fact there are Braves fans all over the southeast and for some reason they still don't sell out games consistently.

Yea, Its soooo difficult to drive down I75 and get off at the exit named "Turner Field"

To say that the City doesnt support the Braves is laughable
