Sorry but Cartersville isnt 20-30 miles away. And you should have taken MARTA to Phillips

It didnt take me more than an hour to drive from downtown ATL to Alpharetta in the 500 year storm

Maybe you are just a bad driver

I lived in kennesaw. Just googled it. 25.6 miles.

I would complain about ATL traffic too, if I lived in Kennesaw

I don't anymore. Moved. Either way, downtown is horrible. I enjoyed kennesaw. I lived in Dunwoody for a while as well. That area is nice. Traffic is just as bad over there.

I mostly traveled so it didn't impact me other than i didn't want to fight it to go to braves games.

I see that you changed the subject to driving habits in order to avoid the subject of Atlanta being a terrible sports city. Nice diversion.

Sorry I didnt respond to your post about the Braves being in the top 50% attendance, I was too busy researching all the pro teams attendance % in Hunstville, AL

He went to Vandy, worked as a lawyer and then pretended to be a journalist for a minute.

At this point he should be unmasked for what he is, a bitter and emotional and delusional Pearl fan. He made retarded statements in the media about the Pearl firing and now he has attacked Coach Martin more than Pearl's son.

Clay, you have a good looking wife. Unfortunately that is about the only thing you have going for you. Your book sold less copies than a biography of a T Ball star. Anytime you are on the radio I will change the station.

Don't forget GWU either.

For once, I agree with you mhf.

All you had to do was ask.

We have a nice hockey team here called the Havoc. Also the Stars are fun to watch for Double A baseball. Enjoy a game if you are ever in town.

Just posted information I was given. We all can't be perfect like you.

I'm just messing with you. I'm nowhere near perfect. I screw up everyday. At least you can admit that you were wrong. Keep bringing what you hear.

Theres not a city in TN big enough to support a franchise for 81 home baseball games.

Let's do some quick math:

Atl population = 1,033,756. Nash population = 552,000.

Dont know about Memphis but Knoxville and Nashville are football towns. Now dont get me wrong we (Nashvillians) like our Predators but football will always be king.Baseball would fall somewhere below hockey now.

Vols first of course.

Clay Travis has lost all shreds of credibility he had wrapped around himself.

Anytime you are on the radio I will change the station. I did not regularly support your pathetic website by viewing your tripe, but I guarantee I will not be reading it in the future no matter what outrageous and stupid thing you say.
And if you dare to try to suck up to Coach Martin after he starts to suceed at TN, I hope he rips you in a way that makes the "I'm a man" speech seem tame.

This post makes me want to buy his book.

I bought Dixieland Delight and was entertained, same with On Rocky Top. A long time ago, however, from reading his columns, I realized that Clay, while well versed in tailgating and getting drunk before games, really isn't very knowledgable about the games themselves. And lately his stuff has just gotten more and more ridiculous. I think he officially lost all credibility with his Auburn should make Chizik and Malzahn co-head coaches bit.

Another thing with Nashville as a sports town (although they seem to have largely overcome it with the Titans) is that everybody in Tennessee already has an allegiance. I grew up in West Tennessee, my family's been going to Cardinals games since the 50s probably. I'm in Knoxville now, of course, lots of Braves fans here, and Reds fans too. All 3 of these are well-represented in the middle Tennessee area.

I enjoyed Travis's books, but I started to lose interest in what he had to say when he made his comments about Dooley being a joke.

They weren't going to spend more on basketball than football.

I don't doubt that what you're saying is possible/probable, but it makes no sense.

Because dooley was not a big name coach, we couldn't pay him more than a couple of million a year ($1.8M). You invest millions of dollars in pratt and the tommy bowl, but because Kiffin's timing put us in a bind, we are now not going to pay any basketball coach > 1.8M??? :eek:lol:

you can't make this stuff up ...

I still don't know if I'd put baseball below hockey. Even though we have one team and not the other I would still consider Nashville more of a baseball town than a hockey town.

Put it this way, if Nashville had a chance to trade franchises with Milwaukee where Milwaukee would get the Predators and Nashville would get the Brewers-- throw in the Sounds and Admirals for good measure--and put it to a vote, it would be approved by at least 75%.

As an attorney I take offense to that! He couldn't even hack it as an actual lawyer, but tries to use that background to add to his credibility. Please.

Claiming he couldn't hack it as an "actual lawyer" doesn't hep your credibility very much, either. Like his schtick or not, it is pretty clear that he has chosen this career over chasing ambulances.
