Didn't I say they were "okay" and "much improved? You obviously didn't read my post. Take Matthews off the Vandie team and they have 3/4 wins. Maybe. This awesomely great ****ing team you call Vandie coached by ****ing Vince Lombardi scrapped together a last minute drive to beat a ****ty Vols team. UT beat themselves in the Vandie game and blew at least 4 chances in the 4th quarter to put them away. Not because Vandie forced it, but because the Vols didn't execute and/or horrible penalties. This Vandie team had a MUCH lighter schedule than the Vols. MUCH. Get off Vandie's nuts dude.....
Vandy's 9 victories came against teams with a combined win total of 35 games (average of less than 4 wins per victory). UT had 5 wins against teams with a combined total of 27 (average more than 5 wins per victory). Franklin has yet to beat a team who has won more than 8 games in a season. In fact, of Vandy's 9 wins this year, only 2 came against teams with winning records (22% of their wins).
UT had victories against 3 teams with winning records (60%), 2 of those had 8 or more wins, one had 11 wins.
To say that Franklin has a much easier row to hoe is an understatement regardless of the 4 point head to head loss.
Franklin is the second largest over-performing coach in the SEC, and that has gotten him attention. He needs to cash in before his stock falls. I see no way he can ever achieve victories over UGA, FL, and UT in a single season again.
Great scheduling and luck can go a long way to making a coach look better than they are.
EDIT: Need to correct a mistake. USA went 6-6. That isn't a winning record. Technically I should say that UT beat 3 teams with a .500 record or greater, two who won 8 or more games, and one who won 11. Conversely, Vandy's wins came against teams with 0, 2, 2, 8, 4, 2, 5, 4, and 8 wins. So, only 2 of Vandy's 9 victories came against teams with a better than .500 record.
