Clay Travis: Vandy has as many bowl wins in past 2 seasons as UT had in the past 12.

Take Matthews off the Vandy team and they have 3/4 wins. Maybe. This awesomely great ****ing team you call Vandy coached by ****ing James Franklin scrapped together a last minute drive to beat a ****ty Vols team coached by the "by the best staff in the country" that cannot stop one player only apparently

Again, name more than 3 games Franklin has won at Vandy vs. Teams with winning records. Can't be done because that's the # of wins he has vs. Teams with a winning record. Give Vandy Tennesse's schedule the past few years and they would have had a losing record each year as well.

You make an excellent point; however, you are dealing with some really delusional fans on this thread. For example, holding CBJ ACCOUNTABLE for a 5-7 record last year! Considering the shape of the team this time last year and what was left had to learn a new system, what could a rational person expect?

Truth is we had the toughest schedule in the nation, beat South Carolina, and almost beat Georgia. Yea we got blown out by teams with more talent and stability but overall CBJ did fairly well!

Now this time next year if we don't see some improvement then it may be time to express some concern. On the other hand, I don't expect a HUDGE improvement because our schedule is not much better! The good news is this recruiting class will have a year in the SEC and hopefully have another good class coming in.

So far I believe in CBJ and in a couple of years all these negavols will join the bandwagon and act like they never doubted CBJ! GO VOLS!

And we still have fans in denial about the state of our program and the effectiveness of JF. Hope he leaves. If he coaches the Titans, I need a new pro team.

Dear God I hope they're not stupid enough to hire him. He may be a candidate for a high profile college job, but no way in hell he's an NFL HC candidate.

Those players would laugh him out of the locker room.

Don't hate them

I hate the results and hold them accountable

You can hold them accountable without the Shiite and constant shots you take about what amounted to a throw away line at his initial press conference. It comes off, over and over again, like you despise the guys. You're certainly entitled to it, but you shouldn't be surprised at that guy's post IMO ...I think the same things as that guy when I read your posts about Butch.

He said it because it make Vandy fans, who will forever be under UTs shadow, feel better about their two mediocre Bowl victories. ...now if we really want to compare how about let's go back past twenty or thirty or even fifty years...it's convient he picked out of the air twelve considering that was the start of our decline. Vandy's success is over inflated. While our decline is not. We've hit rock bottom. Our tumble to the bottom means we were at the top once and will be there again. I truely believe the success of Vandy is due to us being down. Vandy is at the height of their program. I think they've hit their ceiling.

Beautifully said Sparta. If they somehow hire Franklin, I'm done. I'll throw all my allegiance behind a certain team located near the Rocky Mtns. No more tickets, jerseys, nothing.

Couldn't have said it better myself.. Agree 100%. Next seasons schedule will be just difficult, if not more difficult, than this years schedule was. If CBJ can win even 6 games next season, he is a magician. 2015 should be the start of better things to come.. By 2016, I fully expect to be competing for the SEC East.

You're off by 1...they have 4:

2012- Ole Miss, NC State
2013- UGA, Houston

73-29-5 all time against them......look at that and let it sink in for the Franklin homers on here. They just added 2 notches on their belt...only 44 more to go to tie it up! They will never be on our level.....NEVER!!!

It is embarrassing yes.....but people on here act as if Vanderbilt is the second coming of Bama East or something.

AGAIN.....Franklin ain't gonna put much more of a dent in that all time record than that.

Vanderbilt now has as many bowl wins in the past two seasons as Tennessee's had in the past 12.

Clay Travis ‏@ClayTravisBGID
Vandy is now 16-4 in its last 20 games. Only Alabama at 17-3 has a better SEC record over past 20 games.

Clay you are an idiot. Hell, I can take a true fact and twist it to make it look good.

Since the inception of the bowl game era, only Alabama has more bowl appearances than Tennessee. Alabama 60 Tennessee 49..

Vandy has a total of 5 bowl games in his schools history

Well great for Vandy and Franklin! 44 more....if he can win 44 more straight against us Vandy will tie us up! This maybe the fact some of us are not overly threatened by Vandy beating us twice in a row....won't last....history says so :dunno:

Who gives a crap about what Clay Travis says? He does this stuff to try to get a reaction from fans.

He is a Paul Finebaum copy cat. His radio show can be entertaining but it's value to real sports talk is horrible.

True. Have you ever listened to his show? You can go 30 minutes and they might not ever talk about sports. It's a terrible show, therefore I listen to 102.5 in te afternoons.

No reason we should have missed bowl games the last three years. Six wins in a twelve game season isn't a lot to ask.

All that and no real fan base. Maybe 35,000 at best.
