Climate Change Report

Fox News found themselves in some hot water on Monday when The Daily Wire's Michael Knowles inappropriately called out 16-year-old Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg on The Story With Martha MacCallum. Thunberg delivered an impassioned climate plea at the Climate Action Summit earlier in the day, but it was Knowles's reference to Thunberg's Asperger's that prompted the backlash.

While discussing the partisan politics of climate change, Knowles said, "The climate hysteria movement is not about science. If it were about science, it would be led by scientists rather than by politicians and a mentally ill Swedish child who is being exploited by her parents and by the international left."

Knowles's "mentally ill Swedish child" reference to Thunberg was immediately refuted by fellow guest, progressive radio host Christopher Hahn. "How dare you," called out Hahn, adding, "You're a grown man and you're attacking a child. Shame on you."

Knowles defended his statement by claiming that he was attacking Thunberg's parents, but Hahn didn't have it. "Relax, skinny boy. I got this. OK? You're attacking a child. You're a grown man. Have some couth when you're on television," fired back Hahn.

Hahn continued blasting Knowles, "Maybe on your podcast, you can get away and say whatever you want because nobody's listening. You're on national television, be a grown-up when you're talking about children. She's trying to save the planet because your president doesn't believe in climate change."

"You're despicable," said Hahn, demanding Knowles take back his comments about Thunberg, but Knowles just doubled down on his "mentally ill" statement, citing a book Thunberg's mother wrote.

Did you watch this kids tirade about how adults have put everything on her and other young peoples shoulders?
I shouldn't be up here. I should be back in school on the other side of the ocean, yet you all come to us young people for hope. How dare you? You have stolen my dreams and my childhood with your empty words, and yet, I'm one of the lucky ones.
People are suffering. People are dying. Entire ecosystems are collapsing. We are in the beginning of a mass extinction, and all you can talk about is money and fairy tales of eternal economic growth. How dare you?
So the indoctrination of the left to believe in climate change has led us to have 16 year olds address the congress and the UN so we can completely ruin the western worlds economy while the politicians ride around on private jets and tell me how much beef I can eat meanwhile cooking a thousand steaks at a political rally. Yep I'm all in on this crap.

LOL Hahn is dem stooge, a loud mouthed, rude, obnoxious, smug dolt with bad manners.

If the kid is big enough to act an adult and be put in front of congress, so too can she receive name calling and opinion and be able to accept it.
It's generally not a good look to call someone out for the mental capacity, especially when it might be true.

Should have just attacked the ideas and left the name calling at home. No idea why people cant do that anymore. I always thought it's because people dont have a real argument.

If you're gonna put yourself out there, be prepared.

Just because you have put yourself out there doesnt excuse someone else being a Jack donkey. Stop validating this crap. It's no wonder we ended up with Hilary and Trumo with this crap going on from both sides. Noone wants to be the adult, so all we get is children.

A teenage girl in another country understands the very basic science of climate change. Not news, really.

That this is the kind of stuff that scares the crap out of conservatives these days is sad.

That the American left is so feckless that they are willing to hold this young autistic girl in front of them like a human shield instead of just coming up with some workable ideas based upon the science to move us forward is equally sad.

A lot of great ideas to address this would create jobs that would require Americans to learn new things, though.

We can't have that. Democrats hate jobs and Republicans hate learning.

Completely disagree with you on the bolded part. If you mean by liberal standards and a greater portion of Dims holding college degrees - frequently useless and with loads of debt attached - then possibly you are correct. There are a couple of points though - one reminds me of the old Army thing you learn in hurry. Address an NCO with a "sir" (as we respectfully learned in the South), and he will jump down your throat with "Don't call me sir; I work for a living." Apparently the Dim party doesn't hold blue collar people who work for a living without a college degree as "educated" ... you know the people who keep your car running, build your car, etc.

The second part, and I just had a discussion with my brother about his granddaughter on this one ... career choice. My sister in law made a comment about a friend who had a "science" degree ... forgot what, but it sounded "impressive" and had no job offers. I showed them a chart about jobs and science vs engineering degrees. Engineers get jobs, and frequently "science" majors don't, and there's a major salary disconnect with science majors bringing up the rear. My brother said "but a lot of kids can't handle the math required in engineering". That stunned me a bit ... how can you be a "scientist" and look down on a common engineer if you can't handle the advanced math? Yet that's precisely what you see with respect to the climate change issue; as an engineer it's easy to debunk a lot of climate crap because of what is ignored and because of unethical cherry picking the data that are used. The engineer has to apply the math and science he learns to ensure that products work; it's pretty unpleasant if a bridge fails, for example. "Scientists" are free to churn out all typed of hypotheses and theories; and even ones upheld by peer review, sometimes fail badly because they project a belief rather than an actual product. Pie in the sky labs aren't where the rubber meets the road. It doesn't even have to be in hard science; look what ivy tower educational "experts" have done to our educational system since the 1960s

The only people this autistic girl is scaring is the left..FACT. The rest of us laugh at you.

1) Understanding science doesn't change my politics from anti-authoritarian centrist to lefty.

2) I'm not the one obsessing over a school girl more than a Republican Senate candidate from Alabama.

3) And you are laughing with an ever-shrinking minority.
