Clowney Had Zero Sacks

Clowney was in Tiny's head bad this game. Tiny had what 2 or 3 false starts. I quit counting all the whiffs he had on him. Clowney played up to his hype .

After the first quarter I thought it could be a long day. The only time I saw him the rest of the game was when he danced on the sidelines and during ESPNs tribute to two plays in the first quarter. He didn't/couldn't do crap when it counted. Whoever drafts him will get a player who can be great but only when he feels like it.

The great player was hot for about 15 minutes, beating Tiny twice and the TE twice.

Then, after Tiny wore him down, Spurrier moved him to the other side for most of the game and was never heard from again. No sacks, no more solo tackles, no fumbles, no QB hurries. Our DLine sacked Shaw 4 times (including nearly breaking his legs), and he can run circles around JWorley (we love you Justin!).

The MSM will keep showing Clowney's hit on Raijon all year, right through to the NFL Draft. Here's one pic the MSM won't show -- do you guys/gals have more like this? Tiny serving up 330 lbs of pancakes.

I hate when Vol fans mention injuries (or potential injuries) to opposing players. Classless.

Clowney was a show horse. He made some plays, but he also contributed to his team losing. The face mask penalty was a game changer. He was shown prancing in the end zone while his team mates were still trying to tackle Lane when he almost scored.

In his press conference he said he and the defense played good. (Inferring it was the offenses' fault). He also said Worley made the throw to North with his eyes closed. (LOL Worley beat him with his eyes closed).

I'm watching CFB Daily on ESPNU. They spent 5 whole minutes running through the injuries. It's tackle football.

I'll bet you're put off by "Redskins" too.

I will give Clowney credit for chasing runs downfield. Exerts a ton of energy that perhaps would be better spent if saved for rushing.

I'd love to see an actual grading of Tiny and Clowney in this game. I'm curious just how good and bad each were. Sometimes perception does not match reality.

Half of Clowney's highlight plays didn't come against Tiny. That said Tiny came out way too juiced (imo) and over played his hand to Clowney's benefit early in the game.

He did nothing in the game except when we tried to block him with a TE that was when he made the three or four stops for losses or no gain. He only had four tackles and 1 assists. McCullers had five tackles and one assist. I never heard his name called but once in the entire game while Clowney's got called over fifty times.

Clowney is a pretty good defensive player . . . but he doesn't even have a fake girlfriend.

I'm looking forward to Freak posting the offense and defense videos of the game.

Freak? :)

Someone on twitter had the best response to the whole Clowney deal.

"Somebody pass the ESPN crew some chapstick, their lips have to be raw after kissing Clowney's ass so hard"

or something close. :eek:lol:

Clowney made his couple of impact plays and was smiling even as his team was losing because (imo) all he really cares about now is solidifying his draft position. UT won the war by playing as a team. Big Dan and Walls had better days than Clowney and didn't need the limelight.

I thought the best clip was Clowney show horsing and acting like an airplane in the EZ while his teammates were trying to corral Lane from scoring.

Clowney made a couple of good plays that probably didn't make a difference on the respective drives in which they occurred. However, he did directly contribute to the continuation of a drive in which we scored. If I'm not mistaken, that face mask that he had was on a 3rd and long while trying to sack Worley. That kept our drive alive, and we scored from it. So, one can argue that USCe may have been better off without him in the game.

Clowney had his opportunity late to make a play. Our offensive line and lane iced the game by making a fifty yarder an extra point

He was pretty effective in the run game. Really thought both Tiny and Jawuan did well against him in the passing game though.

Clowney started off the game very well, at least somewhat due to Tiny attacking Clowney rather than him waiting for Clowney to make a move first. Not to take anything away from Clowney, but Tiny's tactics early on should be noted. Clowney wasn't able to sack our QB, and he even committed some penalties.

Someone else made a similar observation, i.e. that Tiny may have been a bit too amped, at the outset, for his rematch with Clowney. More specifically, when he did not keep his footwork until control and became more aggressive, he became susceptible to inside moves by Clowney. Once he settled down, became more patient and allowed Clowney to come to him, Tiny was more effective against Clowney.

I've actually heard this quite a bit, that opposing teams fare much better when Clowney is in the game.

Just rewatched the entire game, watching only Clowney. He had only 2 tackles against the TE, second play of the game and the face mask against Lane. TE lined up opposite Clowney multiple times but pulled to the other side of line of scrimmage, leaving Tiny to block him. TE did have some good several blocks on Clowney. No one noticed those apparently. Clowney had 3 tackles when Tiny was blocking him. Tiny had many more good blocks against him though.

Clowney re-established himself as a 1st round draft pick (thanks much in part to ESPN), Tiny on the other hand showed he is still not disciplined at his position. Every time he has a false start he dwindles a lil more in the draft.

That hit on Neal was laughable, they compared it to the Michigan hit "without the flying helmet". The hit shouldn't even be on the highlight videos. I see harder hits than that in almost every game.

I didn't see this posted anywhere, but there was an actual grading of both of them during the game on nfl.com. Their writers seem to think that Clowney pretty significantly "won" the matchup between himself and Tiny. I would tend to agree. I thought Clowney played a great match. I think Tiny has the potential to match him any day, but I just don't think he performed as well as possible this particular Saturday.

Here's the link to the article.

That's what I saw, too. When he was matched up on Tiny, he won only 3 or 4 times. Tiny stood him straight up time after time and flattened him more than once.
